I just spent twenty minutes in a tactical battle to find out that the results did not match what actually happened ingame. One hero took all the battle's damage and died even though the battle report was accurate to what I experienced in the tacitical battle. I belive the problem may lie in the game defaulting to the possible autoresolve results rather than letting me have my day in the sun. 
I believe this is a bug that may have been created by the change in gold received after the battles as it seems very close to that one and I noticed it has been fixed recently.
That said, the battle itself was really very fun. I was able to use the desert with the wooden wall to block about ten enemies from surounding my level 5 trio. We won the day with very little damage, due to a good combat and armor system balance, and the AI even swithced targets when I tried to run them around and strike at their backs.
