Whenever I start a game, it renders alright for the first frame, but as soon as I try to zoom in or out weird, brown lines appear across my monitor, together with some dots. The lines don't move around no matter where I look, although they go away when I go into the main menu. Also, no matter how much I zoom in, it never switches out of the cloth map mode. However, when I go to the main menu and back to the game, it switches out of the cloth map mode permanently, but won't render the terrain correctly. It only renders the land, the water, and my sovereign'sfigure (from the cloth map), no trees, or resources, or anything like that, and my sovereign is standing with the ground level at around his knees. I haven't tried to go any farther than that, because, without being able to see anything, I fear the game will be impossible to actually play, although I'd be willing to test if other things work.
I have a 2.5GHz Phenom quad-core, 4GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT with 256MB, running XP SP3. I already tried updating my graphics card driver, which changed the nature of the lines that show up (before they were kind of wavy, now they're straight and regularly spaced) but nothing else.

EDIT 2: Just FYI, this still occurs in v1.09n.
