What does a Crystal Crag do?! I know it creates crystal, but what does the crystal do? It's driving me nuts!
Some equipment (found in the magic tree) use them.

You mean the fire/water/air/earth resources?
They make spells of that element stronger (usually more damage).
Spell description gives more details to how much damage it adds.
No, no, Elementium.
Elemental Shards make spells stronger as stated above, Elementium is used for some armor and weapons that also come from the magic tree; however the armor is not as good as master heavy steel plate in terms of defence (but is has a smaller speed penalty). The Elementium chest plate blocks the use of arm guards currently. Really is does not matter much as it is nearly impossible at this time to get enough to be useful.
Okay. I never find any elementium resources anyway, I just pick it up from time to time.
Make crystal a top priority. There are alot advanced units for which crystal is a prerequisite. Find & mine asap.
About Elementium... it isn't from a 'built' resource, like a mine or a craig. It's found once you research higher level notable locations up in Adventuring (or Domination for Empire). I think I remember seeing it after Ereog's Journals (Kingdom).
