The DB guys did a pass to clear out duplicate names (we'd done it a year or two back and changed the system to prevent new ones, but it seems to have slipped a number through), but it appears that the check for activity to determine who gets to keep the name didn't work correctly, and there was no notification as there should have been.
Hold tight and don't change your nick, I'm told we're going to revert it.
