I completely uninstalled my game and deleted the elemental folder in my documents / my games and then installed 1.08.037 and I hit just fine now..

In order for the patches to work for you you must:

Make sure the game is patched correctly.

Start a new game. Do not load a saved game.

Uninstall all mods. (Reinstall any mods that have specifically been updated to the newest patch.)

Even old sovereigns can cause issues if things were changed, so it's also a good idea to delete and recreate sovs.

Same with custom factions.

Any of the above can cause the game to act as if it's not patched.

I got it to work, doing the undo beta and repatch.

However I did have to start a new game. First Archer hit his 1st shot. Logbows, though.

Again, it did not work on my old saves, always enjoy throwing a couple hours away due to bugs.

I did the above, created a new sov, and started a new game and now the ranged combat works!
