Frame rate went to 10% after 1.06 update

After updating Elemental to 1.06 version my framerate went from acceptable 40 fps to 4 fps! It's virtually unplayable, not to mention that my campaign progess cannot be loaded anymore. I posted an issue report tommorow with some little UI glitches I consider little annoying, but the game was playable quite good but this??? This makes it broken and I really want you to fix it. I am running it on Windows 7 64 bit and yes, I have latest nVidia drivers, I have checked.

I believe save games (and so saved campaigns) from pre 1.06 are not compatible with 1.06. This is unfortunate but backwards compatibility was broken due to some other fixes that had to be made.

The performance drop is somewhat unexpected though. Is the main game menu slow too, or does this slowness only show up once you start a game?

I had restarted my PC, then the game refused to start up at all, another restart and it runs fine now, at 40 fps again, so god knows where the problem was.

I do not understand though why you gave up on backward compatibility, is it so hard to write some convertor for the saves? I mean even Microsoft's Word can open older documents ;o) Imagine that I start playing the campaign again and after some hours into the game new patch will come out and all my progress (all the time I invested) will be lost, again - it is something I am not looking forward to.
