Beta 3[Bug/Gameplay] Can't build anything in a city!

Hi there!

I just was trying to play the Beta3. But when I build the first city (doesn't matter what faction I use) I can't build anything in it! The city improvement list is always empty!

did anyone else have this problem?

There's a bug with custom Empire factions that causes this. If you're going to use an Imperial faction, choose an existing one for now.

Now i knew what happened with food production buildings, because I was able to build only one Skathling pit, and that's all...

I am sorry, but that is just not true. It doesn't matter what I pick: default empire, customized kingdom, customized empire....and so on...I just tried almost every combination...even without any customization I can't build anything...

I found my empire/kingdom and well that's pretty much it...can't do anything else with the city, cause the list is still empty...

I have this same problem. It doesn't matter if I start a Kingdom or Empire or use a premade or make my own. I can't build anything in the city.

Yeah it's a pitty...I can't really test the beta...well let's say I already found a major bug

I even uninstalled and reinstalled the whole game to be sure there were no corrupt files or anything like that..

I hope we can fix this soon..

P.s. sorry for my english...it isn't my native language..

When moving from one beta to another, I uninstall Elemental, then also delete the "\Documents\My Games\Elemental" and "\Program Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic" directories that the uninstall doesn't remove. Then I reinstall.

I'm not saying that this will fix your problem, just that it's been recommended as a good practice to follow when participating in the Beta.

Also having this problem. The city progresses until the population cap, but the build window is completely empty. I started off trying to create a custom sovereign and faction; then I tried using only a custom sovereign; finally I just quick-picked premades. Doesn't matter what I am next to, what turn it is, my stats... kinda a pita that I can't do anything but wander around. Eventually, I found a unit that granted research points per turn. After discovering a new tech building... I still can't build.

I had exactly the same problem. I think it may have to do with the resolution. I changed my resolution from 1920x1080 to 1360x768 and chose Lord Relias and Kingdom of Altar. One of these changes solved the problem for me.

edit: Tried a Sovereign/faction constellation I had chosen earlier, and still the problem is not there anymore. So it has to be a problem with the resolution 1920x1020, at least for me.

I think there is more to it than that. I get all the building que showing up, but for one the lumber mill. I don't think a resolution change would fix 1 particular building missing from the build que.

My guess would be there's something a bit deeper at work here within the changes made for beta 3.

As far as the lumber mill goes, I think it was changed in beta 3 so that it can only be built on an old growth forest tile. So far I've only seen one of these old growth forest tiles, and the game crashed before I could build on it.

Pub, Did you have the lumber mill build icon? Several of us have already tried regular and old growth, but the build lumber mill icon isn't in the build que, even though the research has been done. Kingdom side problem.

No, I did not. The old growth forest tile was well away from my city, and I was hoping that I could use a pioneer to harvest it, but as I said the game crashed before I could do so. So this very well could be bugged.
