Had you alt-tabbed or done anything else that might have caused the issue?
I did get pulled to desktop cause of a Team Speak version error when reconnecting to the TS server I was on. When I tabbed back into the game everything seem fine. I had just started so the only area I explored was around my starting position. That location is down along the south east shore of the island on the other side of AI.
I don't usually alt-tab to desktop though so if that's a common thing when alt-tabbing I wasn't aware of it.
