I was not aware of this, so I stopped typing, cut & pasted it here, and now I start...
*in Universe 2, Cryxis and his crew upon the Battleship Dengora are about to reach the black hole mentioned by the Gaabratska Merchant Pa-Toa.*
Yin: "I hope that Gaabratska Merchant is right about this. If he lured us into a trap, I'll kill him after I'm dead. 'Do not seek revenge upon those who do not seek conflict.' Yeah, unless you're already dead!...are you even listening to me, Cryx?"
Cryxis: "heh....no..."
Yin: "Once we're out of this mess, I'm gonna slap you upside the head!"
Hope...
Heh...That word again. A word that lead a once great civilization - scratch that, many civilizations - to it's inevitable destruction. Hope...is nothing more than a dream. A fluke. A lie....and a bedtime story my father used to tell me before I went to sleep...a time when...things did not look as bleak as it does today.
Many years ago, a war ended between all the civilizations of this galaxy. My father, and his grandfather, single-handedly ended that war, and soon after, galactic peace. If only it were as simple as that, now...
A few years later, the Ildiran discovered a strange artifact: a DarkGate. A trans-galactic, trans-universal device. Massive, dark ring. as if someone made it out of a black hole, which essentialy, it was. We had no idea who built it...untill they came...
I was in my room. 13 at the time. Starting to truly understand the Universe. Then, it happened. The DarkGate...opened.
Thousands, millions...billions of ships...came spewing out of this gate. immediately got to Earth and Theroc. Theroc never had a chance. Destroyed within minutes of this invasion...if you could call having half the UGA fall in a day "An invasion". No craft fired on Earth. Just a ship, the size of the moon, hovered just above. A monolith, great in size, dazzling, glistening, and absorbing the very light of the sun itself. It ate light. One black ship, a small transport, came onto the surface, just outside the capital building. A man with fiery-gold eyes and a long robe came out along with two guards -suprisingly unarmed. They wern't there to secure anything, just to watch the onslaught...
Everyone who carried a weapon was instantly reduced to ash. Everyone else, burned by the man with golden eyes. He reached my father's comm room. He was getting reports from all over: massive ships jumping into the gravity well- and that was it. Each tansmission immediately followed with static. My father told me to hide underneath one of the tables. A silly idea, especially when a man of that power was coming in to kill the inhabitants of the comm room. But there was no other choice, so I hid. He also told me once the people left, to immeniately find the nearest Surface-to-Space vehicle I could find, and escape the gravity well as fast as I could, never to stop. I...saw it in his eyes...desparation to save me, yet somehow it looked as if he had a plan...... we both knew...
...he wasn't going to make it...
...Thats when he showed up. I expected him to burn my father alive or desintigrate him like he did to the others, but...he just stood there. I got a good look at his eyes. Those burning eyes. He was determined, but for what? To kill us? No. That could not be. I saw his soul. It was pure fire: graceful, bright, everlasting, chaotic. His gaze pierced my father's. Both gazes did not stray apart for what seemed like forever. Then, my father...closed his eyes. The burning man pulled out a crystaline sword...
...and drove it into my father's heart...
My father slumped to the floor, and set on fire. I saw him burn, the Man with the Burning eyes watching. His gaze then turned to me...the frightened child. It felt like he was reading my soul. Like...he knew me. I felt my expression on my face turn from terrified...to hatered. This brought a smirk to his face.
"I can see the fire in his soul..."he said.
His subordinate then interrupted: "Firaeon, Sir, shouldn't we get back to the ship and purge this planet?"
".....yes"
...he said that so coldly. His smirk got wider. Firaeon...that name still circles my mind today. The Man with the Burning Gold Eyes...that bastard. He said nothing more, turned and walked away...
Then...everything was set on fire...
I ran out. The transport was just about leaving. The capital was now on fire. Each building, spire, everything like a forest fire. I then remembered what my father said. I remembered the personal transport that I usually took to Luna. I hopped in and ignited the fusion engines. I pushed the throttle to full power, exiting the atmosphere within seconds. The space towers were crashing towards Earth, the large Monolith-ship still looming ominously above Earth. The corse I set zoomed right by the command deck...where I saw him, Firaeon...
His hand was open, pointed at the Earth. My gaze met him a second time as my tansport zoomed across. It was all in slow motion...
...He opened his hand...cupped it as if grabbing a sphere, and crushed the imaginary sphere in his hand...
.....boom. There went Earth....
What was once a pallette of blue and white, was now a large, quickly spinning core with an immense shockwave of vapor, dust, and rock expanding outward. Earth...was gone.
And so was I. I hit the Hyperspace button and set a course to the farthest possible territory from the new enemy: The Tau'ri Nation.
I never stopped. I continued on, never stoping for any reason. For three months, I was in hyperspace, running, trying to make sense of what happened. I cried. for two weeks, I cried. I cried untill my tear ducts ran dry. Then I just cried blood. I have never cried since...
Subordinate: "Sir, we are about to enter the event horizon in three minutes
Cryxis: "hu-wha- oh! yes...um...prepare the crew for hyperspace. Charge jump drives, strap everyone down to their seats!"
Subordinate: "aye-aye, sir!!"
Once I reached the Tau'ri Homeworld, I learned their language, their food. four months later, a Flaming Ninja came with news...
The new enemy were called "the Saiv Empire", and they spanned more territory than the Hydrogue and Ildiran combined, and with four times as much population. The Ildiran emperor fled to his Galaxy, and Grandmaster Samureye was assasinated and has been prevented by some force on being re-encarnated. He was sent to me by Samureye's spirit in order for me to be sent to him to be trained as a Flaming Ninja. Five years in a Hyperbolic Time Chamber with Grandmaster Samureye, and I was released back outside as a high-ranking Flaming Ninja. I was gone for only one year in true time. However, the Saiv Empire captured as much territory as it would take the UGA to conquer in ten years. The UGA was eliminated, and with no home to go to, I became a mercenary, keeping peace in an unstable Northern Galactic Union.
A group of remenant UGA navy and marine forces formed a group called "The Milky Way Liberation Army". This was hardly an army, for they only had one ship: the UGAN Dengora, an Alistor-Class Battleship that was once captained by my father. I stumbled upon them trying to find a marauding space pirate, and they found out I was Cryxis. They asked me to become the leader of the MWLA, and I agreed. We took down the pirate, his men, and the Asteroid they inhabited, which had a SHITLOAD of gold and valuables.
After two years, I got a message from an FN that I was going to get a "Partner". A senior FN that has experience dealing with the Saiv. Yin was no problem, we got along well. At first, she did not like the prospect of having to be a mercenary, and she also had (and still has) a problem about saying quotes of samureye's and applying them to situations. She's not so bad in a fight. After all, she is a Flaming Ninja...
Then we got a job from the NGU, the rememnants of every galactic civilization united in order to survive. They gave us the biggest challenge of our lives: Kill the EmberFive
If we are succesful, we will be paid handsomely, along with half the riches the Saiv brought with them. Along with that, we shall have back all the territories of all the civilizations that the Saiv destroyed. Not going to be an easy job, but we accepted it anyways. I still want revenge against Firaeon, the man with burning eyes, for what he did. And the pay is good...I guess....
So here we are, 30 seconds from chancing a suicide run into a deadly Nebula, full of unstable stars and black holes...
Heh...what a way to start a story...
Subordinate: "We have reached the Event horizon!"
Cryxis: "Hyperspace, NOW!!!!"
*The Dengora is slingshotted into the Nebula....*
