Bug 1: Vasari Gravity Tolerance - double research doubles the gravity tolerance -sometimes causes ships to be unable to jump away from a star. Because it tries to jump from the minimum tolerance points, which then lays beyond the area a ship can move. Moving the ship away from the star manually does not solve the problem, because it tries to get closer to the star again as soon it gets a jump order.
This may be a general bug.... the ship in theory should only attempt to make use of gravity tolerance when it is deep enough in the gravity well. When the ship is in the normal jump out area, it should jump out immediatly, instead of moving closer to the star to the maximum tolarance point.
Advent culture resarch is affected by double resarch in such a way that "False belief monitoring" and "Eyes of the converted" is no longer accessable.
TEC Rebels - 6 levels of Gaus range upgrade actually make the Ragnarovs Gaus guns OUTRANGE the main gun.... which leads to it only firing the gaus guns instead of moving into range of the rail gun. Preferable fix would be to increase the range of the rail gun to compensate, or generaly just remove the gaus upgrades for the - offensive - TEC Rebels.
Possible bug/oversight: TEC gets 2 levels of Development Mandate, but Advent have no change to "Augmented Defense grid". It is still limited to 2 level and 10 slots like in Vanilla. somehow unbalanced, with all the new powerful toys flying arround advent could use some more defensive firepower.
The double resarch really makes the races more differently. But it does not always positivly influence balancing:
TEC Loyalist vs TEC Rebels: With the huge armor research, the Ankylon goes from poor to pathetic when compared to the Ragnarov. With all those armor upgrades, there is very little difference in durability, further weakening the Ankylon. Actually the numbers are of course still different... it is just so that at the maxed out armor level the Ragnarov is extremely hard to kill too, ruining any advantage the Ankyon might have due to far greater firepower.
Lets face reality... 1000 extra shields points are at best worth 100 extra armor points. Higher regeneration helps, but I think 2 more levels at the maximum resarch would be more balanced.
Far more important... give higher phase missile block to "Raised Shield Harmonics".A large buff preferably.
With the additional research.... Vasari vs Advent is not fun anymore.... advent ships die within seconds... no matter the upgrades.
TEC got armor and hull points... advent got shield upgrades... Vasari got both..... that to much imho.... remove a double shield research for Vasari. They are powerful enough without it.
