Is that your territory beneith the sovereign, or foreign territory? Regardless, there certainly seem to be several spots that he COULD travel to...if you see this again, please send over a reproducable saved game with this happening. We'll look into it! Thanks!

Yeah, we've gotten it to the poin where it doesn't CRASH on restart within a game...now we just have to overcome the 'No Map' issue :) Noted for next week.
I suggest selecting the Stationed Unit's medallion then right clicking on where you want them to go...MUCH more useful than using the 'Eject from City' button.
Mines were missing in 0.29, should be fixed in the update (0.291). I beleive there was also a fix involving equipable items getting unlocked and showing up in the unit designer. Let us know if I'm a liar and 0.291 fixes neither of these ;)
Bizarre...I'll try to get some debug messages in to help us narrow this one down. Thanks guys!
Anything that affects a Stat or Ability SHOULD be working, some ofthe more specific ones (city stationing bonuses, per-turn global resource bonuses from sovereigns, etc) or boosts on things not yet implemented (army morale) are not. I'm about to go through the data and round up the lacking bonuses and penalties. Besides crash fixes ad memory cleanup, getting these working is on our list for next week.
I must say I never experienced in my life to play a beta so messed up.
Unfortunatly that's the nature of the beast with PC game development...what works solid on one machine (or, in this case, the 30+ test boxes we use in the offices) fails in a craptacular explosion on others. I don't think we promised Beta 1 to be anything less that painful ;) Next week is actually devoted ENTIRELY to cleaning up crashes and memory leaks, so please, the more info everyone can se
Good point :) Should be an easy addition.
We were looking into this one, but it's proving more elusive than you'd imagine. From my undersanding, the issue (in code) is that Goodie Hut and Resource objects think they're hidden under FOW even when they're not. THe second time you 'unhide' them is when they properly get unhidden. A few possible culpits... - For MP reasons, the game now properly keeps track of FOW for all players (before, non-local player's would only store what objects they knew about). Some underl
That's great news!!! I don't know what's changed, but I'm glad the game's finally working for you ;)
Thanks for your comments BoogieBac. I preordered because I trust you will deliver high entertainment software with high quality as you have done with your previous games. For me it's almost a safe card to preorder your games. To be able to help you out would be great and I know the game is far from finished.
Thank YOU for your faith that we can pull this one off :) It's a much bigger project than anything we've bit off before, but it's getting exciting to see it all come
Yikes, I didn't realize media outlets were steering people towards buying to play 1G? That's a nice double edged sword (more preorders = rad , angry that it's a week off = lame ). So, here's the deal for anyone that preordered reciently...the current beta of 1G, while it has the new features, also has some new BUGS. We're going to spend the next week polishing and fixing whats there, at which point (from my understanding) we'll be releasing a 1G update (solv
Fogbugz is perma-disabled to users, due to spamming :( I blame.....Wintersong!
I get this problem on a development laptop we have around the office...we'll look into it asap!
RE: Cloak Issue Sorry, forgot to menton this, but everyone should visit their "My Games/Elemental/Units" folder and clear out any previously designed units. That soldier you see there is the old model, and should not appear in-game (unless, again, an old unit type uses it). Let me know if that fixes the issue!
Some goodie huts still seem to linger (visually)...if you intersect one and it dosent do anything, that just meens a hero or other player got to it first :)
Staging now. edit: Once staged, we'll have to do a quick test internally then we can push it out to you guys.
The more people you have testing and giving feedback, the better.
Perhaps that's true, now that we're on the last stage of Beta 1, but to allow people to come in half way through this first Beta cycle would have resulted in more complaining and demands for a refund than useful feedback :) With each new beta cycle, we spend significant effort to prep players as to... - what we're looking for - what we're NOT looking for - the best way to provide
That's the custom unit quote...Brad wrote that, it wasn't pre-canned :)
Yes, single player saves are local...though I hear 'saving to the cloud' option is getting popular amongst gamer-types. Back in MY day, saved games required a friggin' BATTERY in the cart, or worse, a 26 character password you had to re-enter :( Kids r so spoiled nowadays ;)
Landis: Yeah, I'm suprised of that myself. Our answer would be "1G is all those betas rolled together AND some" :)
No, no. I 'get' that. The problem is that there's currently nothing else to do with essence or your sovereign besides rushing cities quickly.
You guys will be playing with the magic system by the end of the week...don't worry, the true purpose (and importance) of Essence hoarding will soon be unveiled. :)
If all we have to do is plop down a few cities (along with the other Sovs) and wait, how much of a "...significant emotional tie between the player's actions and the world they're inhabiting and greatly affecting..." is that? Little to no effort = little to no attachment.
It's really just a visual thing (the cloth map dosen't get the point across), but you definatly feel a sense of pride when the world around you comes back to life, no matter what the effort. A note one Essence and reviving the land... Right now the part of City Building that takes essence is the re-habilitating of the land. By spending you essence and breathing new life into it (or twisting it) you make it livable for your people and a city can now be placed there. Cities also radiate this healing (or twisting) power, so as the game progresses you see the world come to life (or, again, twist) to your will. This transformation (hopefully) provides a significant emo
