Actually, Jobeleca, I've been using either Mozilla or Netscape 7.0 as my default browser for a long time. Lecrayon, I agree that it's a tough subject to agree on, but I maintain, as I mentioned earlier, that few if any art galleries or museums, who of course appreciate art more than the average bear, are going to allow any random person to hang their stuff on their walls. It might all be "art", but that label alone doesn't make it worthy of display.

I'm laughing as I imagine a laptop with a mini projector that pops out and projects the image onto the old type roll-up (as Bill_Sawyer mentioned above) movie screen! There might even be that little telescopic rod and hook gizmo. If you want it bigger still, detach the projector and move it! Hey, I guess we'd need to get the operator out of the way though.

I think if it were my site, I'd add a field to the submission form (I'm assuming there's not one already), that *requires* the submitter to summarize their thoughts/intent/expression about the piece of work they're uploading in a paragraph. For example: "Man mooning city hall expresses my frustration with our town government". Okay, fine - this guy is expressing an idea via an image that he cares enough about to describe his thoughts. OTOH, "My ex mowing the lawn", probably isn't worth the spac

I appreciate everyone's comments. As craeonics said above, *this* kind of reasonable discussion would not have occurred on the other site. Also, I have to respectfully disagree with Karlie. Artistic expression can take many forms, as can political commentary. (Frank Zappa comes to mind). But, there's a difference between creating expression, or voicing a political/religous belief, and just nailing something to a bulletin board. Mike, pretty much, that's my point. They're big, with a lot of their size (Treetog mentioned over 500,000 files) being worthless junk, and I think the junk to quality ratio is increasing daily. I'm not saying that any of the DA staff aren't good people personally. I'm just saying that in my opinion they should be a lot more critical of what's accepted on the site.

Apparently, if you can digitize it and upload it, it's allowable on DA. It may have always been that way, and I just didn't notice it, but I think things have gotten worse. I understand that, but I've never seen that kind of error here at WC, so I was wondering about these "other guys", and why they can't run a site/database that doesn't spew errors when it gets overloaded. I totally agree with you Davad70. There are only so many things you can do with some components, and most everyone is inspired by someone else's style. I'm not saying any of what I've seen is an outright rip. I'm just saying some of them look *so* similar they stand out more for that reason then they do for the theme itself.

What is it with mySQL? Is it the traffic on these sites that brings mySQL to it's knees or the other way around? Neowin used to suffer from it, now ThemeXP regularly spits out mySQL erros, and ieXbeta is now similarly affected. If a site can't stand the traffic, why can't it be configured to simply be slow? That's bad enough, put presenting the viewer with a string of errors looks like sh*t.

I tend to agree with João. Yes, SkinBrowser is beta, but it's not early beta, and this problem has been occuring for awhile now. It's been reported here and on the newsgroups, and it's frustrating that it's still an issue. Frustrating too is that I have no idea what version I'm really using because the version number doesn't report as correct in the last few releases. I've downloaded .99D twice, and it still reports .99b (that's after deleting the earlier version).

I used to see this happen a lot more, but now today again, my Universe Metal theme choice for this site, changed to default after reading the message board. My login remained correct though.
