You need at least 1 point in order to be able to move. And your initial movement speed it set to 1. And movement cost associated with the tile determines if you can make another move
Peace Phoenix
I have tried but it doesn't seem to work: they are reseted at 0.
I guess that moving on non road/river terrain cost 2 movements point per title.
Well, you could always use the workaround of deleting some files in My Games/Elemental directory.
Juat brainstorming too - what about simultaneous turns like in Dominions - where all players set their Orders simultaneously, but no-one actually moves until the computer resolves the outcome and displays accordingly...
Unless I am mistaken, but there is an important diffference in movement between Dominions 3 and Elemental: in Dominions 3 an army can only move into an adjacent province. In Elemental, if your unit have sufficient movements points it could move few titl
In the following savegame http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5057853/pb%2020090302%20220600/T6d.EleSav when you hit next turn and choose the housing tech (and only that one) the game crashes. Here is the dump http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5057853/pb%2020090302%20220600/Elemental0_291-2010-03-02T22-05-44-671.zip<
In order to avoid strange things with my computer settings, I have removel all data associated with elemental: uninstalling the game and removing all folders that may subsist, remove the My Games\Elemental folder and cleaning the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic directory Then I have installed the latest version of Elemental. I started a new game, choosing Lord Relias and the Altar without changing anything. I found m
Well, nothing were forcing you to build a city on your exact starting location. Have you moved and waited 1 turn before building your city, you would have been able to build your city on the other side of the fertile land.
Here is the save before the city levels up http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5057853/a1a.EleSav Here is the save made after the city levels up. It was generating 6 research and 6 prestige when doing the save http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5057853/a1b.EleSav but when I load that save, the city is now generating 8 research and 8 prestige Here ar
I have cleaned all data in My Games/Elemental repository and got the same problem with Lord Relias and default Altar race.
Well, you need to research farming (3 turn) and build a farm (20 turn) to be able to access to non forest tile.s So it is workable but clearly a bad start.
Here is the setup: Custom sovereign, with Hunter for History, Naturalist and Tracker for Talent, stubborn and inefficient for Weakness. 15 for all stats and 3 books: restortion, air and earth Taking Altar with Fertile, Ressourceful, Hearty and Master scout I start the game, found a city (giving 4 gold, 4 prestige, 4 research and 4 spell point), set 2 hut to be build and research warfare, take Equipment. Choose Civilisation, take farming (and set farm in the buildi
This one is great: library: 10 labor, 100 gold, 4 slot => 1 research town council: 10 labor, 100 gold, 1 slot => 5 research
And if a unit gets lots of moves, isn't that just an advantage you have accumulated?
I guess it will depends how simultaneous turn will be implemented: are players giving orders and then the turn proceed with all movements (like in dominions 3 where you can only move into an adjacent province) ?
Are you sure turns are simultaneous
If they aren't simultaneous, it will be a nightmare to play a 8 player game. Even if each player use 2 min for their turn, this means than only 4 turns will be played in one hour. And you will wait other player for 88% of the game length BTW, I think to have read somewhere that there could be up to 32 players.
@peace phoenix : but that bonus would be useless in the end game.
Stupid question but why need the SOVEREIGN bonus to be useful in the end game if they are useful at the beginning? Each bonus must have a drawback for one type or another. An easier drawback is the cost. Another is the timing of the usefulness of the bonus. Another is the way to play the sovereign to get the maximum benefit of the bonus. As there are 4 types of victory (conquest, diplomacy,
Use % (or something that scales at late game) as bonus & penalty. There is nothing wrong for meditativeness to generate "4" spell points without the aide of city. However, 4 spell points aren't probably that much in the late game. Make most, if not all, of these Sov trait affect how player play the game both in the beginning and at the end game.
Well, the point is about talent for the sovereign. The sovereign is a specific unit, located at one spot on the map.
Unless I am mistaken, city spamming is associated with the fact to be able to create fastly lots of cities to get better results with lots of small cities than with a few big cities.
1. As far as I understand there will be no settler unit, but the settlements are created by our main channeler. I would say that it would be a good idea to have all new settlements get their first inhabitants from the cities that the player already owns. This will slow spamming considerably.[/quote
In beta 1G, if after you get the warfare equipement technology, you are able to create unit with a range sight of 6 and and movement of 7. Sure they get something like 17 turns to be build but they are worthwile to spot creatures, goodies and grab fastly those goodies. I was even (after lots of goodies grab) to have some units with a movement of 15. I am wondering how MP will handle those units, especially with a simultaneous turn rule. In SP, I am able to move those unit a little, se
My sovereign has found some band of agility. It is supposed to increase combat speed but I don't see any recap screen allowing me to check if the item has an effect or not. And the only way to access all stats of a sovereign is during the level up screen.
I am wondering if it is linked with the fact you can't choose quest frequency on the new game menu
It could be useful to have a tab in the options menu with all hotkeys and one hotkey allowing to refresh display.
I am wondering why the savegame are sorted in ascending creation date order (same gaming session)/alphabetical order (when loading on a new gaming session) and not in descending modification date order. If you save frequently the game, you will likely load the most recent save.
Unless I am mistaken, I haven't found how to tell a stationned unit in city where to exit it. As this feature is avalaible in GC2:DA I found it strange not to have it in Elemental.
I have discovered (because I hav'net seen an key reference card) that TAB allow you to cycle through units and cities. Sadly, if a unit is in a sovereign army, the TAB key behavior change : I am no longer to cycle through cities and when going to the units that are in my sovereign army, the map is centered on an unrelated spot.
