I have copied all xml quest files from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic\Temp\English\Core Quests into My Games\Elemental\Quests Then I have started a new game and new icons have appeared on the map. After having search quest technologies and ruins exploration, I have tried to go into a spot with an new icon, and I was offered a quest.
Peace Phoenix
Since 1 +2 +3 + .. + n = n*(n+1)/2, the formula that should be used for the upkeep of n cities is n*(n-1)/2
Basically, I'm just wondering whether at this stage I should be bug reporting like crazy, because I have found something others are not experiencing, or is this pretty standard fare at this stage?
Well, you should report at least one crash, with debug.err, dxdiag and memory dump. That will inform the devs about your configuration and problems they may encounter. If they have nothing to help them fix a problem, they can't fix that problem.
I have experienced it also. It appears generally when my troops are targeting an ennemy, I hit next turn,my armies move and attack and got 2 battles decisions/reports before being able to interact with the map.
And you don't have the HP associated with each side.
When clicking on any unit display, the essence, mana regeneration and charisma are displayed, even if the unit doesn't have it. Having a peasant display essence, charims or mana regeneration is strange.
Yeah houses are currently used to snake out to get resources
It is true for lumber mill. but since 0.295, you don't need to snake for farming, mining ot harvesting shard.
That file is located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic\Temp\English\Core Quests
I have met and defeated Procipinee. I have no longer access to her in the foreign relation screen. But I got sometimes message about her having children !!!!!
I have experienceda strange behaviors when doing a snek attack. I have used an equipped sovereign that starts with 5 movement points. In the before sneak attack savegame http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5057853/before%20sneak%20attack.EleSav , I am a turn before doing my sneak attack on capitar. I hit turn, Then attack the capitar city with my sovereign. I get a message from the capitar Kingdom. I choose the
Well, there is a charm monster spell in the air spellbok that requires 10 mana to be cast ...
why would you need more then 6 citys
Well, if you need to take the AI cities with 4 opponents, you may have at least 4 cities befor killing the last opponent. More if you/them have build other cities. Currentlt, you can't raze a city.
What are the requirement for damsel in distress? Researching all exploring tech?
Really? We're min-maxing already?
Well, having a sovereign with 8 in attack, 12 in defense, 5 movement points and 4 range sight is very useful to scout the map, spot treasures and kill ennemies. But I don't think that core stats are correctly used...
Given all the bonus associated with equipments, there are no reason in 1G to choose a custom female sovereign.
The following savegame http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5057853/pb_city/jmf41.EleSav display some nice problems with city building: In all the 4 cities I own (2 level 4, 1 level 3 and 1 level 2), I am currently unable to build houses outside the 8 blocks of 4 tiles surrounding the center of my town. I was able to do it 2 times before as displayed by the cities. When modard have raised to leve
Well, Using equipement, you can get a sovereign with 5 movements points and some good sight range. Very useful for scouting the map.
And this doesn't take into account the attack and defense value of default sovereign compared to custom one
Are you playing in fullscreen or not?
The game crashes when I try to load the following save http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5057853/pb_ctd_load/jmf15.EleSav Here is the debug.err file http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5057853/pb_ctd_load/debug.err and the memory dump http://dl.dropbox.com/u/505785
Have you tried to research the housing tech?
These features can be optional.
optional for the player, not for the devs ... As you have stated
Too much wasted potential has gone down the drain because otherwise good TBS titles have a tacked on an underdeveloped multiplayer component
You know, Jack of all trades, master of none. A good way to have an underdeveloped multiplayer component is to exceed in features list what can be realistically done.
If the cost of moving the unit is 2, then I shouldn't be able to move the unit at all when it only has 1 movement point left but I still can.
It depends of the rule. If the rule was: you can only move into a tile if you have at least the movement cost of the tile. But it isn't the case. And it is lucky since all units have a default movement point of 1 and nearly all tiles have a movement cost of at least 2.
An important info is missing when we are presented the screen before a fight: the hit point number on each side. It isn't the same thing to fight a spider with 30 HP and a battle rating of 13 and a Troll with 230 HP and a battle rating of 19 when you have only 40 HP ...
In the following save game http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5057853/pb_same_tile/on%20ennemy.EleSav a troll moved onto the same tile than my sovereign. It didn't engage combat (which is nice since I will surely have lots the combat). But I haven't the opportunuity to engage combat with this troll. It seems that in ordre to engage combat you need to move into the tile where the ennemy is.
