Well - I'm certainly still enjoying it, and looking forward to continual improvements and new campaign bits for a change of pace. Also, dungeons maybe?

Not Europe, but Australia (so probably even further) - just got mine today, so they are still on the way for some folks I presume.
Janusk in my latest game was a researcher, not the +1 gilder. Later in the game he changed back to +1 and stopped research in its tracks for a while. I have the current game version.
I can still build them - but have to be well away from other towns so that there are green squares on the required spots.
You are wrong. Teleport is a powerful and ancient spell. It requires a high mana cost to account for its extreme power to be able to attack and defend. It forces a Sovereign to choose between having several wizards by his side or a small number and the free use of this devastating spell, allowing the Sovereign to attack his enemies at will and defend any of his or her cities at once. I personally don't rely on it because there is too much to be gaine
i think its a little of both really. I mean because of these forums i'm kind of glad that the people over at civfanatics are so crazy and full of aspergers which makes them hate everything but at least the developers get actual feedback instead of gushing and zealotry.
Once again - just not so. There have been pages of well-reasoned discussion and suggestions here - it's not all 'gushing and zealotry'.
OK I have the technology, I have a nice 2 square beach with two empty spots behind (I'm assuming that's what the 4 space requirement means) within the city area, I have the gold etc. required, and still can't build a harbour. Anyone have any suggestions? Some of this is just a touch TOO arcane. [edit] answered my own question again [e digicons]O:)[/e] It was the city being too close to another to have buildable tiles on the beach. So, next question, ca
Saw a suggestion, but lost it, that 15 mana for teleport is OK - you can get it when you first level up. Personally I think it is bad to make extra mana so attractive, tends to reduce your development choices. My thought is it should cost 10, so you can imbue or level up and still have access. Ah well - back to the game.
I was playing about a day ago (so after 1.08 and subsequent update) but now Impulse says there is another patch? Just wondering what that is all about? [edit] Hmm - it may have applied the hotfix again. Not sure why, perhaps installing the Destiny's Embers content confused it.
I'm wondering if the book forshadows goodies coming up in the game. A large part of the book takes place in a huge undergound country/city. Does this mean that future expansions of EWoM will allow undergound exploration? (rubs hands with glee) Cuz I love the idea of establishing cities undergound, with tunnels leading to the pathetic world of the surface dwellers.... Frogboy, please te
I'm done also. I was willing to persevere with the game, especially when I visited these forums to find out why the game was in such a condition and read so many intelligent posts, but after being here for a week, I've found the community here to be disturbing. The level of devotion to Stardock, Frogboy and Elemental borders on the theistic. I have better things to do with my time than wade through pages of fawning devotees in an att
The trees at the left are working fine for me. Are you running a game started with an older version with the newer patch? - this always seems to cause more grief than it is worth.
bow 100% miss bug, teleport raised to 15 cost, removed organized trait...anything else to DISSUADE one from upgrading? I regret having upgraded to 108b. Stopping play on Elemental until the next patch....again.
Ouch - lucky I haven't used bows in a bit. Also never knew about Organized so only the 15 mana bites atm.
Personally would prefer to see teleport at about 10 mana - had to level before I could use it in my last game - not nice.
Knowing Random House, they'll make sure you guys get taken care of. How do you like the book? It's the first one I've ever written.
If you look in the forum on fiction there are some comments there as well - personally I really liked it and am hoping you find time for a sequel. *wave
I have come to the game late but think the points made by the OP (while rather dramatically framed) seem sensible and well thought out. +1
Quoting Thizzbaby, reply 6 EDIT: HELP!!!! Can't find where the DE characters are located. Are they hardlocked to prevent sharing? On 'My Games' Tab there is a seperate download for 'Elemental: Destiny Embers' - install that and away you go
Nicely spotted!! Thanks for that [e digicons]:D[/e]
I hope they have an aggression slider one day. I would like to spend some more time exploring the game and the game world and not being forced into military escalation all the time.
Done it a few times and each time I only had to build the mine or foundry or whatever it was, wait until it produced 25 units of crystal and then got a message to return to the quest giver. Sounds like it is messed up - just wondering if you started and then patched and continued? Some crazy thing happen with saves after new patches - I always start anew nowadays.
Still, it's bad news when games are no longer on the shelf - really limits the market. In Oz too and went the download route, but with an LE box. Well, in theory there is a box - been waiting a LONG time for it and still not arrived.
Would love to know too - asked in another thread (not directly on this topic) but no answer to date. Not sure if I want to play Nym or fry him (it).
As in the title - the 'escort noble' type quests are no longer showing the destination on the map? Am I missing something? [edit] - please ignore - found it - sigh. OK - it was in my starter city (lol at self).

Yes - enjoyed the book a lot more than some internet reviews would have led me to believe. Would love a sequel. Looking forward to the in-game content from the code in the novel.
