After running the Windows Upgrade Assistant, I find I could live without a most of the incompatibilities. However, the real game breaker is The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind incompatibility. Yes, this game was released in 2002, but it is still one of my favorites and runs fine under Windows 7. So, for me, Windows 8 won't happen!

Yesterday, the system tray alerted me to a WB 7.41 update. I started SDC, selected WB 7.41 and clicked uppdate. After the required boot, I assumed that WB 7.41 was installed. This morning I got another alert that there was a WB 7.41 update??? I checked the installed WB and found that WB 7.4 was still installed. I started SDC again, selected WB 7.41 and clicked update, where upon SDC crashed!
Since 32 bit Windows can only address 4GB and it needs about 1GB for its own use, any 32 bit application will have only 3GB to play with. Since I have a 64 bit Windows system with 16GB of RAM, I never had the issue with the HD DLC that you describe. As long as you stick to a vanilla Skyrim with only the HD DLCs, you will have a nice, but boring time. However, if you start using any mods, you will quickly discover the truth. I speak from knowledge and experience: I am done here!

Is this a home built system? I find it strange that a retail 64 bit machine would have 32 bit Windows 7 installed. As far as Skyrim is concerned: I have almost 400 hours played. Maybe CursorFX Plus needed a reboot in order to complete the installation, but SDC just went ahead and rebooted without giving me any opportunity for a clean shut down of open applications. Worse yet, CursorFX Plus still shows in SDC as an update even though the installed version is now 2.11! Just noticed that my cursor (Tesla) had a greenish cast to it. Went to CursorFX Plus settings and clicked on "Reset" and the cursor was again correct.

My all-time favorite series are Dan Simmon's "Hyperion", "Fall of Hyperion", "Endymion" and "Rise of Endymion" books. "Hyperion" was released in 1989, but is amazingly prescient in the current internet connected world. The story development and detail are incredible. I have read the entire series at least 6 times and still find them fresh and alive.

I review the junk email titles before I trash them. I did receive the requested list of applications and serial numbers from the Stardock Store on 4/1/12, but I have seen nothing from Stardock Support. I do not have stardock.com blocked, but I have added it to my safe list.
I am trying to install DesktopX Pro 3.5 from the web page. The download is without error, but when I try to install it, the serial number that is on the web page is not accepted. I click on the serial number and I get a "copied to clipboard...". When I paste it in the serial number field, the text is identical to that on the web page. However, the instlaller refuses to accept it. I have emailed Starock Support twice now about 2 weeks apart, but so far I have received no response.
