I have always enjoyed holding in contempt people who read People. The magazine. It has always seemed a bit silly to me that instead of worrying about things that make a difference in their lives, people spend time following the lives of celebrities who are so far removed from their reality that they might as well be fiction. I have for years, when the topic

Is anyone here a meteorologist or environmental scientist? If not, then your opinion on global warming doesn't matter and you SHOULD listen to the experts. I don't claim to know anything about how to write programs that skin windows, yet the people who do would have us believe they're environmental scientists too. No disrespect intended, Brad, but neither you nor I have the education to be forming scientific opinions about Global Warming. Howe

About those buses - if you'll look closely, you'll see they're UNDERWATER.... that's why they're not being used. It's not easy to drive a vehicle that's been underwater for 300 to 500 miles. Even if it starts and runs, the axle bearings, etc, will often not last the trip. As far as to Draginol.... Since you haven't been following the situation, I'll forgive your overlooking some key issues here. The reason people are blaming Washington is simple: Bush declared a disaster area before Kat

I managed to finish a college degree without a single course in biology, and I missed out on it in High school because I dropped out. I *STILL* manage to understand the theory of evolution, and don't have any problem being able to follow the evidence to its logical conclusion (that evolution is an accurate depiction of how species as we know them came to be). Of course, I HAVE taken Geology, and so I've dealt with the evidence directly there. It's pretty much impossible to study any branch of sc

Actually, I have my ideas what you're implying here, and neither agree nor disagree since I haven't seen the thread in question. HOWEVER, it is obvious from what you say here that Statement #1 was probably ignored for one simple fact: It was made by a guest. It's a bit hard to exile anonymous users.

I've been looking for a Mac Expose-like task manager. There are several I've found, like WinPLOSION, but they all seem to freak out about having IconX/DesktopX loaded. WinPLOSION simply doesn't work at all, it flickers and turns off IconX, flickers and turns it back on, but never actually works... Anyone know of one that *does* work?

You know, last I looked, Stardock checks back with its servers to verify your account information before updating Object Desktop components. Should we be complaining about Stardock then? They're doing exactly the same thing.

As you can see the wb dlls are loaded for every process that has a window. Apparently you don't understand how dll's work. They are *shared* libraries. That means that it's loaded into memory the first time it's needed by a program - then every other program that needs it references the already-loaded

What's MS going to do when the new Windowblinds comes out supporting Vista-like transparenscies? If they're this paranoid about the Vista look getting out into the public pre-launch, then they probably won't like the next WB release at all.

What I've been seeing for YEARS doing tech support are people who throw away or lose all the documentation that came with their copy of Windows. One woman that I sold a computer system to, complete with new copy of Windows 2000, was proud of herself for having organized her entire collection of CDs into those slim-line plastic containers. I asked her what she did with all the original packaging, and she said she threw it out. She was quite

The only problem I've seen so far is that the system tray won't integrate into RightClick or ObjectDock - big breaker for me. Haven't tried IconX or DesktopX yet.

I've also noticed that sometimes a stray graphic gets introduced on the ship design screen... it just kinda sits there, not colored the same as the rest of the ship, nor does it rotate with the ship.

I'm wondering if running 64bit windows is giving me a huge advantage here. It may be, I got similar high figures. Are you running the socket 939 or socket 754 3400+? (most are 754, the 939 3400+ doesn't officially exist...)
