Confirmed. Nice write up on it. Just want to follow the issue.
So, looking at it the tooltip for challenging is only on the world difficulty (so bonuses there don't even make sense). There is no tooltip on the individual opponent difficulty. So Brad's comment of "There's a tooltip?" makes more sense to me now. No, there actually is not a tooltip for the opponent AI.
Done. Also, I don't know what the cap on opponents is. I haven't pushed it.
version 0.1 released. Let me know how it works for you. Post bugs here.
Custom Factions are already in with the caveat that you have to have already played against them at least once (even an aborted game) as then they will be in the prefs file. It is kinda weird because opponents are actually tied to the sovereign, and the sovereigns are tied to a specific faction. Currently I will use the difficulty of the setting in the game. I can add a range option like Heavenfall suggested, no problem. I'll plan on
Not sure how much of a need there is for this with the faction editor in the game itself, but I have updated my faction editor from EWoM to work with Fallen Enchantress. I use it primarily to generate random factions or to get good color combinations that I use for my real factions. Download
Absolutely agree. The actual program is very simple and just mods the Prefs.ini file to change the opponent order. However, it is something that I always use so I thought I'd offer it up if others are interested. Currently has a cap of 10 opponents, but I see no reason I couldn't add more if you have custom factions/sovereigns.
This utility will randomize the opponents that you see in your next game of Fallen Enchantress. You can also randomize the number of opponents and the difficulty. If you want it to use your custom factions/sovereigns then you must have used them as opponents (i.e. not as your race) in at least one game before (even if you didn't finish the game). Note: Do not report bugs with Fallen En
This should be moddable as well, so even if this doesn't make it to the vanilla game, you can be sure that it will end up in a mod (at least mods that I make) :).
[quote who="Frogboy" reply="48" id="3064476"] Quoting StevenAus, reply 33But having the full unassisted AI in difficulty levels normal and above is an option for the first patch. Whatever the AI we've got at a certain time, we've got to have a mode where the AI is playing the best it can at that time, without any bonuses. So we have a baseline, and we can hopefully help the unassisted AI gets better. That level is currently "Challenging". Challenging uses a
In EWoM you used to be able to recreate your sovereign's picture/card. That way they could look updated with the latest gear you have. Is this still a possibility? I can't seem to figure out how to do it anymore. :( If it's gone, no big deal, but it was fun to do. I'd actually rather be able to rename enemies like I can now. :)
I too thought this was a bug, but I really like being able to rename everyone.
Great idea!
Did you pre-order a physical copy from someone other than Stardock? If so that is likely the problem as they come across as non-pre orders (because for Stardock they were not pre-order). However, if that is not the case, make sure you are using the same e-mail address as the one you used to buy the game originally, and if that fails, then send [email protected] an e-mail and see if they can sort it out.
Agreed, make a level that has the best AI possible without resource bonuses.
When they level up you need to pick up the various magic levels for them (i.e. earth apprentice, death disciple, etc.). This opens up more spells for them to use. I.e. if you want to use burning hands you have to be able to use fire magic. Hope that makes sense. Of course you have to have found that spell or researched it somehow as well.
No problem installing on 2 computers here.

Some of us around Stardockia were hot for NotMoM back when there was some hope that whoever bought the name rights from Microprose would cut a clean deal for a sequel. My memory isn't that good for dates, but I think that phase was maybe a year or more before the game even had a street name
Yep, same problem here.
I went to complete this quest with just my sovereign at level 1 (ok stupid I know). Anyway, I saw I was going to die so I used an escape scroll I had found. However, I could never finish the quest after that. I came back later and defeated the butchermen, but never got the reward and the quest location still showed up on the cloth map (but not on the left of the screen).
Really, I can never get it to work at all. My scouts just sit their doing nothing half the time.
I entered into Relias' territory and he asked me to leave, I agreed, and I was automatically put on an island out in the ocean near his territory. Possibly not a bug, but very mean. :(
I think the key thing to understand is that EWOM != (does not equal) EFE, so despite EFE improving on several things that EWOM did, it does not do everything that EWOM did nor was it ever intended to improve upon everything that EWOM was. It is a completely different game that you get for free for having bought EWOM. Because EWOM had it doesn't mean EFE must have it. Simple fact, and MP is not the only thing that has been left out for the sake of simplicity or im
I hope this isn't a bug... It is my ultimate secret weapon. I love fighting the spiders named fluffy, lolo and clyde next to my city. :0
