I doubt the spell system has been done yet, as it was worded in that thread there was a high uncertainty if it would be in the game.
I have read this a few times, and I think it is a joke, but I am still confused. Heavenfall, what do you mean if you were being serious?
Murteas
I don't know, I think I need to see the dead tree tiles on my own computer to determine if I like them or not. [e digicons]:pout:[/e] ...Please... I actually like the full look of the map, and all the tiles (Dead trees and all).
WOW! That is just awesome. Frogboy and his "no advertising" screenshots. [e digicons]:smitten:[/e] Word of mouth will be great for the beta. My wife and older kids are already sick of hearing me talk about it. My 3 week old son will listen to me all day though. (captive audience ) :)
I love this!!! I am really looking forward to the beta.
Brad/Frogboy, Did you ever get the AI to do quests? I know that a little while ago you were posting about it being a challenge to get it to quest intelligently.
This is definitely a good idea for a mod if it doesn't fit into the lore for the vanilla game. [e digicons][/e]
Quoting Frogboy, reply 15You can pass through ZOC. The AI might even let you depending on whether it determines it is in its best interest. Brad - just to clarify. Separate AI's will ignore each other's ZOC or they will allow passage for each other? Thanks.
My understanding is that ZOC will not be a barrier to passage. The owning empire/kingdom may ask you to leave, but you can
murteas, unless it is 64 bit the MAX ram use (unless LAA enabled during compile) will be 2gb, BUT 64 bit and it is a HUGE ball park to play in, not just the tiny 2gb back yard at present harpo
Yes, agreed, you are absolutely correct. I realize that 64 bits is required to use more than the < 3GB limit that 32 bit has. Not sure what I was really trying to get at there as I
Sort of related, do we know if this will be able to use 4GB+ of RAM? I know that it is probably not going to be 64bit :( , but I would guess the RAM usage is going to be the biggest limiter on the map size.
We do have techs that are randomly available
I love that not all the techs are available every game. [e digicons][/e] So it's been a few hours, is the beta ready now?!? ;) Thanks for the information, looks like FE is making good progress.
And why not make simple 2D models for units instead of those ugly statues or whatever they are. It's impossible to tell what is what in the cloth map the way it is now.
Really, this surprises me. I like the figurine look. It makes me think of playing a board game. to each his own, but I certainly like the figurine look of the units on the map.
I loved Arena for what it was at the time. It was pretty impressive to have something so open ended. However it was pretty buggy. TES has come a long way (good and bad - primarily good).
Cloth map mode should be in the game already (at least it was in WoM). Will we be able to see AI vs AI contests (i.e. no human player at all). I think that would be very interesting to see sometimes. +1 vote for that to be available in the betas. :)

COMMIT! COMMIT!
Like this as well (kinda like Dom3 ). I play for the experience; not always to win against the AI. If I receive a spectacular beating at the hand of the AI, I
I think players will get wiped out by quests too, but we're jerks and just reload. ;) Difficulty level would be a good thing to give the AI, or some way of predicting what the return on investment could be. If the quest is likely to give an item they don't need then maybe it gets devalued, but if they can get a hero, maybe it makes the risk worth taking. Love the battles! Looking forward to the beta.
Hooray for random maps! I don't know why, but I love randomized things in games. Those maps are looking good. Is it beta time yet? :)
Quoting Murteas, reply 81If the xml remains the same or at least similiar you should be able to choose a color for the skin of factions. In fact you can do that now with WoM (granted you have to edit the Xml to do it). If it's that easy there is no reason it shouldn't be thrown in the faction editor as well then.
No argument from me. It really is that easy. If you have a race from
Quoting Lord Xia, reply 77As for the human factions. the 6 out of 10...are they going to diversify any? Or are we still going to see 6 factions of white people with the random black hero walking around? Don't get me wrong, I like white people just fine, but kind of thinking that maybe making a few of the factions something other than generic european peoples. Although the Kraxin were almost not white, they were a little on the off-white,
Picked this up as a christmas present for myself from my kids (gotta love shopping for yourself) for $27 bucks on gmg (discount + $5 credit). I figure that way I can let it sit for a few months still get the free dlc they are offering, and be ready to play it next month after Christmas. Hopefully it will be in a better state at that point. Of course, I may be too involved with the FE Beta to care, but we shall see. :)
One thing about Impulse that people don't often talk about (and I've told Gamestop they should push this a lot more) is that it is faster than any other service. And I don't mean a little bit faster but massively faster. I feel for people who bought BF3 directly via Origin instead of Impulse. With Impulse, the download speed is typically limited by your connection. By contrast, with other services, I get around 300
Will the AI do quests? I've been asking this question off and on over the last year, but I don't think I've heard an answer. If so how do you determine the path it takes in quests (i.e. how does it answer questions in quests)?
I found the server here: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/servers/show/9ba8fa3a-90d1-472d-b548-d35db855240d/October-Station-Chicago Hope to see more people playing (whatever the server). Sent you guys friend requests if you don&#
Not sure how I missed that, but that is what I was talking about. Looking forward to seeing others on the server. Thanks!
Not the biggest of MP'ers but I picked this up yesterday (for PC) and I am interested in playing with any other folks from this community that are interested. Any one have a clan or specific server to suggest? Thanks!
Impossible Creatures... Fun game. Yeah, dynamic graphic asset creation is hard. Dynamic Race characterstics, names, colors, and other types of randomness is not so hard. Still alot of work if it needs to be intelligent about the design, but doable.
