Yeah, I thought he was pretty fair about the whole thing, seems to give Stardock the benefit of the doubt regarding their track record of support.
Cool, looks like a wining team
I believe it's an Impulse exclusive, somewhat like Team Fortress 2/Left for Dead is to Steam
We can dance if we want to, We can leave your friends behind..... I hope your not wearing a hat :) sorry... could'nt resist
I like to play with the Grid on, I would think an on/off option would be pretty much mandatory these days.
Civ V, Eschalon Book II and LOTRO Oh and a little Battle for Wesnoth thrown in for good measure :)
Looks Cool, some Maps up already
I purchased a few games from D2D however I find they're slow to patch, and heavy handed on DRM/Activations (Not sure if that's their fault though). I like Steam and Impulse pretty much exclusively, I favour Impulse because it's easier to install in other directories where Steam likes everything in the Steam Directory other than that they're pretty close (I don't use the communications aspects of Steam very much). Actually to be honest Steam get's a few more sales out of me than Impulse only b
Civ 5 is definitely a great game, however so is Elemental (At least it soon will be) as it has something Civ does not, Magic !! Cheers

Cheers; Snarl I thought that free hero guy you get in the beginning gives some nice tips. That's sort of like the pop up tips your talking about. Not as robust as your suggesting though, I'm sure

This IGN Review is pretty valid in my opinion, I do however think a 7 would have been a better score. I have no doubt that Stardock will get this up to a 9 soon enough.
It looks like things just aren't going Stardocks way these days, the game is buggy (At least on release), poor reviews, duplicate shipments, high cost for pre-orders (at least in Canada). On the bright side things have nowhere to go but up :) Hang in there Stardock ! Cheers; Snarl
Looks like many are getting a second copy shipped, is this a shipping error ?
You only paid $50 for the game. $20 is for the pewter dragon and the cloth map. $14 is for having it shipped to you from another country instead of going to a local retail store or getting the digital edition. Hope it was worth it.
I do not believe this is entirely accurate, $20.00 was for shipping from another country, the $14.00 was a Tax grab as it was not purchased in Canada (Game is not available in my area, i.e. Stor
Yea, mine showed up on the 17th (I missed the delivery guy so picked it up today). The Good; Nice looking package Cloth map looks cool Pewter Dragon looks Great (Added to my D&D Collection) The Bad; Stuck with $14.00 Duty on top of shipping and the game purchase
Nice Write up, makes for a good honest read for a change (Lot's of unpleasant posts out there).
Nothing yet for me in Ontario
Hey Frogboy, nice post, I've waited this long for Elemental, I can wait a little longer. My experience thus far with Stardock has resulted in a level of trust, similar to Blizzard, Valve, ID, Unreal etc.. I see the potential in Elemental and have no problem waiting a bit longer for you to tweak this game to what we all know it can be, keep on pluggin' IMHO
Anyone know why there are NO reviews of Elemental out yet?
I'd say that to do a proper review one needs to play the game for a while, as such it should be a few weeks before a review comes out.
Elemental runs great on my Alienware M15x with a 1.60 Ghz i7 720QM Quad, 1GB 260M, 4GB RAM, you cannot go by clock speed alone. The OP's M11x should run the game fine, most likely a combination of game optimization and drivers. However having said that you also have to watch out for Alienwares "Stealth Mode" backing your clocks off, check and make sure it's shut off.
Dungeon Crawls for sure, lots of deep dark ones full of loot and monsters
