My game is still freezing during "garbage collection".  :(

What I do get to play is a lot of fun, though.

yeah maybe it's time to start harping on the quest system, lack of skills trees for heroes, the need for common/uncommon/rare/set items, etc. harp! harp! harp!

I disagree, I would like to be able to play for 12 hours without a crash, lets deal with that before we start dealing with balance issues. I agree with the OP as things are getting better, CTDs don't happen every 15 minutes anymore! Just to make an analogy you don't paint the house until it is structurally sound. Well in most cases you don't, I love to make money off of the people that decide that is the way it is done!

Do we have to start a new game with every patch?????

You really should start a new game with every patch. There is a high chance your past save either A.) won't work or B.) crash with the new coding.

Your analogy of house building does not really apply. The people doing balance and content changes are not the same people fixing crashes nor is one in any major way dependent on the other.

Want to stress this point. Old unit builds sovs and save games all could add to crash issues with each patch.. your better off imho removing old user files after each update.

Toby, you're going to have to fix this one.

Poor Toby!  Next you'll be forcing him to drink your magic flute.  I wish I had more time with this game, grr.  I'd like to tell you how pissed off I am at various things.  Maybe tomorrow.

Honestly, I can emphasize with this attitude. There are still a ton of issues I am not happy with, and Elemental still doesn't feel, to me, like a finished product. But each patch, again in my opinion, are moving the game in the right direction. Heck, I can now play a couple hours without a CtD.
