Yeah, I'd also recommend waiting. I always buy games after they've been out for a few weeks before buying and went against my judgement on this one. I'm enjoying it most of the time but am getting annoyed by some of the bugs. Just wait and see how the patches affect things before buying (unless you don't mind playing a game that has quite a few).

You definitely don't need to be a warmonger in order to win in these types of games. What you do need, as has been pointed out, is an army in order to prevent others from attacking you. Although I do see the point you are making, you should approach the problem differently then you are. Rather than blaiming the AI and saying it's too difficult, why not ask others for opinions on how to improve your game? Make a separate posting giving a little more detail as to wha
Yeah, seems to not only be studies but other buildings as well. And it is irregularly occurring...
I've noticed that, sometimes, I am given the chance to build two studies. It only seems to occur when I build one, it then allows me to immediately build another (as if I was building a house). I'm assuming this is a bug because, if I choose not to build this second study, I am not allowed to build it at a later date, just as with the other buildings.
I've noticed that, at times, when I try to scroll on the map, the scrolling movement gets all jittery and stays in one spot. I basically can't move around, it keeps jumping back to my previous spot, hence the shaking as it moves back while I am trying to move in another direction. If I select and focus in on another unit or city, it seems to stop.

Well, they are both listed as tactical spells with the same duration of 3 turns. But, yeah, that would make more sense.
Just started playing and I noticed something odd. Haste, a Level 1 Air spell, costs less (3 vs 10), has a longer range (Infinite vs 1), and has greater benefit (increases combat speed by intelligence divided by 10, which is at least +1, if not more vs +1) than Quicken, a Level 2 Air spell. Am I missing something?
They'd best make a decent AI for this one. The AI was so ridiculously dumb that I actually sold my copy of HoMM V even though the gameplay itself was quite good. Can't enjoy a game if the AI won't take a city from you even when the opportunity presents itself. Even with the ridiculous amount of cheating I noticed the AI doing, it still was of no use...

They will, galciv 1 & 2 is proof of that
Actually, I felt the GalCiv 2 AI needed some work... They tended to ignore certain aspects of the tech tree and the battle AI didn't work as well as it could have (still built excessive units it didn't need and didn't organize it's units effective

You're the type that makes a really good beta tester as you're itching to get your hands on the new game and play around wi

Yeah, going to agree with hermes here. No real point in sharing a sovereign in a turn based strategy game...
A whole game finished in 12 hours first day? I think I'm gonna call bs on this one and that AAR is from some beta build you played earlier. You would have to know every feature, nook and cranny to be able to do something like that an even then I would highly doubt it. I used to put 72 hours into Civilization to finish it.
Well, very few people are as you are and take 72 hours to finish Civ... I used to take around 15 - 2
Well, I didn't read through all of the postings but I do agree that there needs to be tactical battles available in multiplayer. It should simply be an option... allow players to make the decision to use them or not. Everyone's happy - those who want tactical battles have them and, those that don't can turn them off. While Player A and Player B are locked in a tactical battle, the other players can be allowed to look over their holdings and plan out their
