I would very much caution against being in more than 2 games at the same time until you feel really comfortable with the entire MP aspect. Not trying to steer people away Doc, just trying to keep games from stalling in later turns as people realize they've taken on more than they want to handle. I've seen it happen before, and if you read various MP threads you'll see it cropping up no

I've started up a game on the dominions forum as I've been wanting to get back into this game. I'm still a newb myself and the game will be an EA newbs game (no more than 4 or 5 games played). It will also run CBM. If anyone on here is interested, please join here: http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?p=778670#post778670 From what I've read, I'm not su
I have played one game, essentially wiped out on turn three. Would be interested in a a second game... but I feel someone who has played 10 games, MP is probably way too advanced for me to consdier playing. I am looking to learn how to play against people- not to provide opportunity for the chess player types to stroke their egos. If a newby game comes up... I'm interested - but 10MP games - that seems, in my su
So of my favorites that haven't been mentioned yet: 1. Dungeon Keeper 2
Oh yes, that was a good one! Never considered it a tycoon game but I guess it does have similarities. I remember loving to get those mistresses leveled up as they'd be a great attack force once you got a group of them with their lightning spells going off. Plus they sure did love that tor

Yeah, I'm pretty much with the later posters. The game runs fine on my computer but I still get bored with it fairly quickly. The AI is the main issue as it just makes really terrible mistakes and is far too easy even on the harder difficulty levels. And the game just lacks that big immersion factor that sucks you into games. With the 1.3 update, if the AI is improved enough, you are really itching for this type of game, and you find the game on sale, I say you m

How can you guys mention tycoon games without mentioning the original Railroad Tycoon?? [e digicons]:omg:[/e] And I'll agree with the Tropico bit... it was a good one.

Hmmmm, I may very well come back and try this game out again. Looks like you all are moving it in the right direction.

I will also add to the desire for more focus on the AI. I played this game a few times when I bought it, when it came out, put it down until the 1.1 patch came out, played one game and quite after soundly beating the tactical AI in a match that should have been a reasonably close battle. It ran around chasing one unit, that was almost dead, allowing me to pick my battles and tear the army to pieces. I honestly don't even know what other improvements that need to be done si
Flaw regarding all 4X games: The diplomacy is always based on who has the biggest sword (who's got the strongest, largest army). Every AI leader has the same mentality / character: "if my nation can conquer their nation, then it will." Please set Elemental apart from all other 4X games and do something unique. Give AI leaders some hidden stats such as: aggressiveness: How eagerly an opponent leader will e

Didn't read all the replies but I do agree with the OP, even though he could have done without the capitalized, bold lines at the bottom. It would be nice to start seeing some big changes / additions to the magic system. It would be great to be able to become a powerful Wizard, able to conjure up massive, powerful creatures and amazing spells that instill fear in your enemies. I'm hoping to see something of the sort in the future. That, and a good AI, would be a bi

I'm with just about everyone else. Wait... the game has potential but was released too early. I haven't played it since the game came out and am just waiting for the 1.1 patch.

Glad you all are liking it. I myself can't get too far into the game as I get too bored (AI issue mostly). I also feel that something is lacking in the overall feel of the game, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. However, I am looking forward to the future.

Great to hear that Kael is aboard! I am a huge fan of the Fall from Heaven mod; played it quite a lot. Look forward to the future of Elemental.
Very poor. It's quite passive and doesn't prepare for war at all. With all the AIs on at ridiculous, the only limit to how fast you can steamroll them is the map size, since you have to walk. It will take you around 200 turns to finish any game if you play well, 300 if you play casually. Brad's promised AI improvements for 1.1 so we'll see then.
Pretty much this although I haven't played through an entire game, due to t

Reply to Starcraft II in PC Gaming

As a former SC1 player, I've been enjoying the 2nd since I got it. I think the campaign storyline has been interesting so far and I'm getting back into the MP of SC. I've always liked Starcraft over Warcraft MP wise. It's pretty much a hit or miss with people MP wise. It's about learning counters, harassment, expansion, and micro... I find it very fun but I can understand why others of you do not. It's not a "strategy" game; it's a fast paced RTS.
Quoting Belizan, reply 59 Well, I wasn't talking about the perspective of Stardock delivering what they promised. I think that topic has been pretty well beaten to death, shot in the head and left in the desert to feed the vultures. Yes, they (insert your favorite invective here) messed up the release of Elemental as badly as anyone cares to state. I think that's pretty unequivocal. The question here, I think
