The thing is there are so many "different" experienced players playing computer games it's impossible to make an AI that will challenge ALL of them. Some of us are very experienced intelligent humans and it would be very hard to make an ai challenging to us without making it unfun and frustrating to the "normals" out there who only play these game "casually". I for one gave up on an intelligent AI a long time ago and was willing to settle for sliders and increases in resourc

The AI doesn't look at the POWER RATINGS like you do. The power ratings are there for YOU to see how YOU are doing. The AI is acting on its OWN decisions of what IT wants to do. You should play a game WITHOUT LOOKING at the power ratings and then it will be a lot more fun. Power ratings are there for those that want to CHEAT....so don't CHEAT. ;)
I had the same problem eariler with another patch and I had to remove the entire game from my hard drive AND THE REGISTRY then downloaded the full game over again plus patch and it worked. Be aware though if you don't know what you are doing when you delete files in the registry you can screw up your whole computer and have to reinstall everything. It's not all that complicated really though if you just search for Fallen Enchantress or Stardock stuff.
Yeah I wonder how many SAVE/RELOADS the OP did before he got his optimum start and win? lol I'm sure he'll say none or maybe just one but I don't believe it at all. Those that BRAG usually are just inferior in life and need some game to puff them up. lol Seen it too often and read it in too many posts in too many game forums.
Just don't change that raiding monsters raze cities immediately and I'll be happy. It's a great balance and fair to the AI to be able to do this. Thanks ;)
This has happened to me in 1.01 in a challenging game. willie sanderson the AI should have to play by the same game rules as us humans otherwise what is the point of playing. The developers have told us that the on challenging and lower the AI plays by the same rules as us. Nakisisa
Developers never tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth
Yep working as intended so IT's NO BUG! sorry ;)
No the AI shouldn't have to abide by the 5 turn rule since the human player can exploit it unlike the AI will exploit the human. This is a good BALANCE FEATURE of the game and I like it. Allow the monsters and even the other AI players to RAZE the human players holdings immediately. ;) Also seed any reloads from saves with the razing already done so players can't do the save/reload cheat. Someone has to finally make a game that players have to live by the RULES not the a
The best balance method I've always used is NEVER USE THE SAME STRATEGY again that I won with before. ;) I always find the perfect balance playing the AI this way. ;)
Quoting willie sanderson, reply 47 Thus FE is just an AVERAGE fantasy game. Doesn't mean it can't get better as I'm sure it will since Galactic Civilization 2 is my favorite 4x space game of all times .. FE is only average to those who consider it average. I consider it far better than average, and even in it's present state, has the lasting appeal and classic
You know what I would like, is games where you can join as a spectator and maybe give some feedback. I could sit for ages just surfing games and watching tactical battles. Especially the replays. When a champion with barely any health scores a lucky critical and takes out one of the champs from the other side I want to see that again.
Go buy you a copy of GUILD WARS 1 then as it has an observer mode and
The IDEAL way to make a multiplayer game for this TBS game is to make it for NO MORE THAN 2 players and allow each player to play the AI side of a battle when you have a human player vs an AI player. This way nobody is sitting on their hands each turn and everybody has constant tactical battle action when it arises each turn. This ^ is the only way it will really work and not become boring and time wasting. TODAYs player wants to PLAY a game not wait for someone else to play it or watch
I would say the MAJORITY will see 78 and/or 74 as a C+ and a low C not this B that Frogboy speaks of. I've never checked to see how a site grades the letters or the stars on any site when looking for review scores. So 3 stars is a 60 3.5 stars is a 70 4 stars is an 80 etc etc. A 78 is a plain and simple C+ and a 74 is a C nothing more nothing less and that is what the MAJORITY of lookers will see also. The rest of you fanbois can skew it any way you like to apease your own con
Quoting willie sanderson, reply 6 Once again this is where Master of Magic did it sooooo well as there never really was a doom stack you couldn't lose that would end the game for you. You had some pretty nice leaders but if you messed up and lost one it wasn't game over. In most 4x games you struggle to survive until you reach the winning point when you can outproduce your opponents and your&n
I'm sorry but I disagree again. If the Russians invade and take Washington they aren't under any obligation to wait 5 days before burning it to the ground and Washington has been around over 200 years so tough if the Americans lose their precious Washington after building it up for over TWO HUNDRED YEARS. lol Razing should be IMMEDIATE if that's what the AI or the player wants to do just like in Master of Magic. If you're going to be the spiritual&nbs
Quoting Mtn_Man, reply 6 I have never heard of this site. Why are the high profile review outlets ignoring Fallen Enchantress? Your guess is as good as mine. We've sent out over 100 review copies of FE so far. Our non-games are getting lots of coverage (we're in USA Today -- today in fact) but for some reason we're having a lot of difficulties getting the game media to
No it should remain an ADVANTAGE for the AI. IT can raze cities upon capture but the player will always have to wait a few turns before doing so. That will make the ai more challenging and if nothing else it should at least become an OPTION to turn on or off so the candyland players can walk all over the ai.
HAHA, yea, GOG games sells old shit, it's not the same. I don't get how people can use that argument.
Ummm last I check The Witcher II is not an OLD SHIT game. You lose. ;)
Just make it where the AI AUTOMATICALLY heals all wounds after a certain amount of time. ;) (On higher difficulties of course)
IMO, it's not the AI, it's the game. If your primary army is crushed and the AI is marching on your cities, you'll also find it very hard to 'recover' as well (crank up the difficulty and you'll see). This is doubly so since all the other factions will pile on the weaker of the two. The game just doesn't have a mechanic for you to recover from a devastating loss (losing your stack of doom). Once you hit that tipping point,
There is still some low hanging fruit the AI hasn't made good use of that I'mworking on. For example, it's still pretty rotten about using strategic spells and it's rotten at late game researching that's going to just require me to do a bit of hard coding to make it better at FE specifically. In tactical, the AI is still poor about using items it finds. Bottom line, there's a lot of area
Go play Age of Wonders....it's easy on Expert difficulty hehe This game is more like chess even though you know how to move all the pieces it could take years to figure out how to be good at it.
You just got 1.01 and now you're wanting 1.02? Geesh isn't anybody ever happy with what they have. Ask not what your developer can do for you, but what YOU can do for your developer. ;)
Take a lesson from the Parthians of old ancient times. Hvy Cavalry, Mtd Bowmen, spearmen (counter for cavalry) lightning bolts and fireballs will kick butt everytime unless countered with the same in cavalry strength as the Romans found out. I threw in the lightning bolts and fireballs from Braveheart William Wallace. ;) I've always found range and speed to be the best tactical strategy in just about every wargame or strategy game if you will I've played. of course Artillery

But to label anyone who likes the game a fanboy with clouded judgment? You mean calling anyone writing glowing reviews of the game a fanboy. Like I said, judging this game in context you can like it but you can't say it's an 8 out of 10 honestly, giving it a 7 is generous when it
