Unless your existing machine has failed or you'll be tossing it such that you need to use the new one immediately or won't have any backup, skip the onboard.

Just make sure to give the roundup a look first, it should help tremendously in the finding if it's already been reported.

If your firewall app is hanging things up due to task-switch issues at startup, you can manually set windowed mode in the prefs.ini file located in My Documents\My Games\Elemental.

AFAIK the system is such that we cannot re-run an order once it has been processed and failed; orders must be initiated by the customer and can only be charged (or attempted) once (for security, among other reasons). As to the being charged at the opening of the beta, we've been as transparent as possible about that here; everyone who has asked about it has been told that we do indeed charge upon issuing of a serial key (be that on a beta release or final). There are also notes to the

Minor update to the roundup today. I'll continue to gather reports of unresolved crashes. Lesser issues though will generally be ignored in subsequent roundup updates once they've been initially noted, unless someone has a new lead or useful additions.

Vista/7 64bit. XP64's driver support tends to be iffy, and Microsoft themselves seem to want to forget it ever happened as well.

Please stick to one bug report per thread. Collecting them together makes it much more difficult to categorize them and determine if they are duplicates.
I actually haven't been able to pull up a save menu, so I guess that also counts as a bug.
Have you been using the family tree workaround?
Stardock is cutting off ALL DirectX 8 users. They don't think that's a large market share?
It's not. The only such cards still in use by any noteworthy number of people are the bottom-most budget cards that retail shops held onto long past their point of usefulness (Radeon 9250 and Geforce4 MX, primarily). If you've got a video card older than Windows XP (DX9 came out in 2002), it's time for a new machine. We don't support pre-2002 versions of Windows either. &n
2. I saw that the pre-order price is USD 49.99; I thought Stardock games were priced at USD 39.99 by default. Is that true?
Elemental has a bigger budget and more "stuff" in it than out past titles, thus the more typical price point. Integrated graphics would be iffy, and chances are we'll have to make some special accomodations for them down the line if we do decide to support them (they're not likely to work at this point). A geforce 7300 should be fine though

Editing cases would require a login, which we won't be providing for security reasons. If you reference the original case number in a followup though we can easily group them together.

For things like this that don't need any special effort or test case to reproduce, don't worry about posting it if it already has been. Typically the roundup will only repeat major stuff (crashes, etc); I'll gather the dupes for minor issues the first time they appear, but on subsequent roundups they'll be ignored unless they shed some new light on the issue.

I'd say his having encountered a task-switching issue that others already have reported is pretty minor compared to the risk of burning out his video card if he keeps doing that :p
