Please provide some context about what you were doing in the game when the crash occurred, as well as the dump file if one was generated.
They've all done that. Versions are not yet compatible.
Save compatibility is the exception, not the norm. Do not expect saves to ever work between versions--doubly so in beta.
Your video drivers are two years old--try updating them.
Please limit reports to one bug per thread so we can easily categorize and summarize them.
BSODs are generally caused by hardware or driver problems, and the error message it shows can help pin down exactly what the issue is. The next time it crashes, you may get a BSOD similar to the one below (not all highlighted parts may be present): Write down the information in the highlighted areas before turning your computer off. The information there can then be researched online to see if others have experienced simil
Is this happening all the time or only after starting a second game in the same session, alt-tabbing, etc? Please provide your debug.err, we cannot diagnose the problem without context and system information.
Please provide your debug.err and dump file as per the reporting sticky when reporting a crash.
Doesn't pastebin have a 1 meg limit? (RIP Fogbugz for beta folks. Very sad that some rotter ruined that for us.)
Use dropbox for dumps. See the reporting sticky for details.
Achievements are not enabled yet.
The locations of the logs and other important information on posting reports can be found in the beta reporting sticky.
Done.
Maybe if we ask real nicely anyone who's making a Mod can get some Mod privs on that section of the forums
Not going to happen. However if you make a blog on the impulse community site, you should be able to move or moderate your own threads (wherever they may be) from there.
Upload the save in the same manner as you would a dump.
Part of tonight's hotfix's purpose is to clear out any user data from old betas that may cause issues. So not a bug, no.
On the elemental site, though there is an upgrade item on Impulse somewhere as well afaik.
did they charge us already...or again?
Upgrades probably went through with the pending preorders for 1Z today.
The queue is running and people who were waiting should start getting serials. The process will probably run into the late afternoon.
There is an option to purchase an upgrade to the LE box on the preorder page.
and I believe that the 1Z is out now this is a little rediculus.
It isn't. Still doing last minute testing before it goes live and the order queue gets processed.
There is a news post whenever we launch a major new build.
You will get in when your order is processed and charged. Right now we're expecting to do this Thursday for beta 1Z, then again when beta 2 begins.
and made each side a clone of the other, so they didn't bother having to balance things.
Having shamans and paladins available to both sides is in the better interest of game balance. It also allows them to be distinct classes with their own flavor since they no longer need to completely counter each other.
I understand that exhaustive, detailed docs are not available, but how do you know what to do in the game?
If you've played 4X games before, you should be able to find your way around.
Given that more people wind up complaining about the quality of translations than actually asking for them, it's hard to say. International publishers tend to be sticklers about the distribution of the localized files as well if they do it so it's impossible to say if the North America/Impulse release will even include those if we have them done. None of that stuff has been pinned down at this early point.
Please see the stickied reporting guide before posting further reports--it covers in detail how (and how not) to report issues and what files to provide so we can investigate any crashes.
Oh, so this is hortz?
One and the same, even after he promised to leave and not come back until the 3D engine was activated. At this point he's just trolling, because he's well aware of the cloth map vs 3D engine already.
Elemental will have built-in IRC.
