When you are reporting a crash, please provide any context you can about what you were doing in the game when the crash occurred. The dump is very helpful but background info will allow us to better categorize and prioritize it for developer review.
My rig is more than strong enough to play the game and no dump screen is around to show me the reason
There will not necessarily be a popup if a memory dump is generated. Look in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic for dump zips timestamped at the time of the crash. Without those or repro steps, crashes can be extremely difficult to solve.
If you choose windowed mode at your desktop resolution, you'll get a borderless window filling the entire screen. While it looks like fullscreen, you'll find that you have the improved alt-tab stability, etc., as you would with a normal window.
More detail about the way in which it is breaking would be helpful. Screenshots, debug.err file, etc.
You can't link images off your own machine. They must be uploaded to a host such as screencast or imageshack.
Link it via dropbox as per the reporting guide sticky.
Loads and retries all result in the same results - my soverign does not attack at all and the battle continues until the monster is able to get off enough hits to defeat me.
As you can see in that second screenshot, Dujiver has zero attack. That'd be why he can't defend himself (no matter how much defense you've got, you'll get whittled down eventually if you can't hit back).
A savegame might be helpful to find just who the dispel dialog is showing in place of yourself.
Do you have a save prior to the attack that you can reproduce this from? If so, it may be helpful.
The other thing is that when the game gets past the splash screen, it is a bright green blob and the sound seems like it is coming from an 80s video game (just some beeps). I will grab a shot of that as well when I get home.
The beta intro video is a parody of MULE .
Only heroes appear in the kingdom tree at present.
If you reload a save can you reproduce the message loop? Issues like this can be hard to address about without a repro case.
The beta intro video is supposed to look like the screenshot (with crappy synth "once, the world was filled with magic"). If you're having performance issues you'll need to be more specific about what you're experiencing, and link your debug.err file with the detailed system and driver info.
It's hard to see but it looks like you built out to some pioneer-constructed resource buildings, which got counted as part of the city once you made contact. A savegame with this would be helpful though to tell for sure what's going on.
Can you link your debug.err file so we have more detail about your system setup?
A savegame with this situation would be helpful so it can be reproduced and solved.
But from what Ive read other people have gotten to go into these higher lvl goodie huts.
Access to high level quests is based on adventure research, not your own unit levels.
We've made some changes which should greatly reduce main menu CPU usage in the next build.
game still stutters and stops before I can even set a game up (even in windowed mode)
We've been working on performance issues related to the sound engine and the overlay this week and have had some very good progress (personally I've seen reductions of 20-50% in idle CPU usage from some of the changes). There are too many threads for the devs to reply to them all, but showstopper issues such as you note have been and are being investigated.
