What is Stardock's position on having two copies installed simultaneously...for instance one on a desktop and another on a laptop computer so long as they are not used simultaneously?
We explicitly allow that, so go right ahead.
Everybody pays the same price--it doesn't get any fairer than that. If it were only $30 there, then people would ask why they must pay more here. It's the same game no matter where you buy it or how, so it's the same price too. A box is just a medium.
Basically it is another version of age of empires...
There are many previews and beta journals available. You might do well to educate yourself on what the game actually is (ex: not an RTS) before attempting to criticize it.
It's simply the USD price converted at the going rate. There is no regional pricing on the game for Europe.
Elemental will not be available at Euro retailers, though you can order the download version, have a box shipped, or import it.
If the entire industry decides they’re gonna use Steamworks... as long as Gabe Newell is running Valve... then screw it, I’ll use Steamworks
Qualified resignation is not the same as saying "I want to use Steamworks". Sadly the actual quote doesn't make a nice pro-steam title for you to bandy about, though. Gabe was in charge when Valve bought out CS and used it to anchor Steam onto people's systems if they wanted to keep playing, whether they wante
You as the sovereign can choose to imbue your heroes with some of your own essence to enable them to cast spells. Or you can keep it all for yourself so you can knock out lots of the big spells. It's your choice. Mundane trained units can't cast spells, though summons, recruited creatures, or special units may have special abilities in a similar vein. That sort of stuff would be easily modded though to suit your personal tastes. More powerful and difficult special locations an
The lighting and tiles look better than mine. WHY?
Beta had placeholder ground textures and such.
Yes, at checkout there is an option to buy the game for someone else, where you'll be able to enter their impulse account email rather than your own.
At this point, just take it easy for a couple of weeks. The internal build is too far removed from beta 4 and the major issues long since resolved, so most reports will be things that are already fixed or changed.
We haven't made any international distribution deals that would cover Africa, so it'd be up to those stores to get the NA/Aus versions and sell them.
Will I have to have my internet up to play Elemental?
The game downloaded data at runtime for Betas 1-3 only to prevent premature modding and allow the devs to change data without rebuilding. As of Beta 4 (and release) this is no longer the case.
That almost suggests there is no coop possibilities in random maps. I really want to be able to hook up with friends and work together against varying AI difficulty levels. Sorry but I'm just not a 'gotta kill my buddy' kind of gamer. We're all more interested in coop style.
There's nothing forcing you to attack each other :p
Whichever way is better for you is better for us.
Unfortunately we only currently support retail keys from our own games and those using GOO/Impulse Reactor.
Bye Hortz.
Please make it so the cursor is contained in the window on Fullscreen mode, even on dual monitor setups.
Just turn on clipping.
Well for starters, I don't have an online account since I normally avoid multiplayer on most games, and second, I'm running a PIRATED copy, so how does my illegal version have more priveleges than your legal one?
Helpful tip: admitting to pirating products we sell is not conducive to your continued presence on our forums. Bye.
The only thing that worries me are bees and chia pets.
Brad keeps bees. In any case, as Brad has said, if you're worried, just wait a month or two before you play. We'll be continuously improving the game as time goes on either way.
Should be no problem unless it's blocked on their end (I don't believe it is, though).
If you can use PayPal that will be available for use upon release. Otherwise, you could try contacting about the possibility of mail-orders (check, etc). We're open to adding new payment methods but that sort of thing takes time and investment so it probably won't happen in the near term. Other than ordering direct, you'd need to go through an importer or see if any other online stores that ship to EU stock the US/Canada box v
There was a smaller universal issue related to the havok animations. The ATI/x64 one was much, much bigger.
Our demos come after release and the first updates. That time's better spent on making the real game better.
You've been posting the same non-constructive rant for more than a year now. It's gotten a bit stale.
