As posted in the sticky two days ago in the main Elemental forum, the Beta is over and can no longer be installed. Keys will be reactivated when we make the final game available.

Battlefield 2 complete collection Age of Empires 3 Europa Universals 3 Supreme Commander Majesty 2 (2010)
I'd be interested to see how many of those explicitly allow it, and how many simply don't do anything that prevents it.
I agree and also work as a Technical Consultant supporting some of the largest blue stock companies across the globe. Those Stardock boys need some basic computer classes.
Being bridged or gated to a WAN does not make a LAN any less of one. This is why many of these arguments don't make sense. The overwhelming majority of residential LANs have internet access, but you'd argue that they then are no longer LANs. Which is silly and completely beside the point. Pu

The Beta is over and the Beta 4 build is far, far outdated by this point. Save yourself the trouble.

I'd be hesitant to even say that, because even if the demo works, if something later changes and breaks the game in XP64, it's not going to be a priority to fix that unless it's also an issue on other versions which we do support. XP64 is really poorly supported in general so the best option is definitely to upgrade to 7x64 if you can.

It might, or it might not. We're not officially supporting XP64, so we can't really make any guarantees.

Our last LE box ran around 3 lbs (not sure what this one weighs--probably more) which runs right about $10 at the mid-long distance range for Priority Mail's standard shipping. The Elemental LE box is bigger than a standard PC game box (it's double or triple-thick) so it wouldn't fit in the $5 flatrate box (the next step up on flatrate is $10 anyway). International shipping will be higher. If you're seeing $20 for domestic and it's not just the upgrade estimate (which should c
It's not like this place (Europe) is in the middle of the jungle. Other companies are actually able to get boxes to Europe and sell them too. And I'm sure they don't do it for altruistic purposes. How come Stardock cannot? Stardock's even done it before.
As we have no business presence in Europe, we have to work through Euro publishers/distributors, and we wind up earning one or two euros per box (for reference, NA retail makes around $30 per box). It's just not worth d

Your video card is also below the min spec. The memory is pretty important though as with only 1GB of system memory total you're likely going to be hitting the pagefile very shortly into a midsized game and that's going to tank your performance. I'd wait for the demo post-release to see how it pans out if you can't upgrade.

In the past we've continued to offer the download->box upgrade after release, so it should be open as long as LE supplies last. Obviously if you've ordered a standard box though I wouldn't expect to be able to upgrade that once it ships.
Again, AFAIK, the only supported language will be English. There *might* be a Russian version, but I'm not really sure about that.
1C/Snowball will be doing a Russian release, yes. Otherwise, English for NA/AU and downloads.
Still unclear though does the box ship to europe or do we have to download via impulse, i greatly prefer the box.
Whichever you order. You can opt for a box (you still get the download in addition) or just the download alone.
BTW if someone else buys it for u does that change anything, it's not like i need all kinds of codes or something, i thought stardock disliked stuff like that.
They can purchase it as a gift and the s

The initial plan was to go with pixel-based movement and continuous turns, but most beta testers wanted the more traditional turn-based tilemap combat. So that's the way it ended up going. The unit count is a separate matter, more based on balancing and map size. Bigger maps will have more money and resources and thus bigger armies.
If it said "Setting up Elemental on your home network easily" then it would be more truthful than it is.
Unless you're using serial crossover cables, "home network" and "LAN" are synonymous for all practical purposes. People read in to it what they want (or don't want) to read.
Elemental not supporting LAN play has made me a liar
Disingenuous statements like these don't help the discussion. Brad's already said it, but there's nothing stopping you from hosting a LAN party someplace with internet access and having at it. Playing via an external server doesn't make it not a LAN party; the whole point of it is that you're in the same room enjoying the game together, not where the packets are routed. I know personally when I used to LAN we'

Big or small, it's a bad idea to promise stuff you can't deliver.
Lack of your preferred features does not make the game incomplete or unfinished. It has what we planned for it to have and does what we planned for it to do at launch. The way it is now is the way it's been planned for at least a couple of months n
They decided to make a multi-player service that is reliable, can keep cheaters/hackers, and coincidentally pirates away. They still plan to release custom servers of some sort, so let's see how that pans out.
The main thing is really from a support/quality of service point of view. If it's client-server, then 1) you don't have to worry about people opening ports (as most people find that sort of thing confusing and cumbersome at best), and 2) you don't have to worry ab
