Just tossing in a link to a thread regarding the C++ Redistributables. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005/2008 Redistributable It seems that there are a number of issues regarding these redistributables and what is running and when. Sometimes it seems they don't install properly even when they report they have.

Remember, this is a Beta version of a game. Plus, we have no idea what their engine is doing. Reducing your resolution and mine fixed this issue. Obviously this relates to graphics memory. Don't compare the functionality of retail games to this Beta as there really can be almost no comparison at this point.
The next line in a working debug.err checks your My Documents\My Games\Elemental\Items\*.xml. however, this is handled with an absolute path. Something like: DebugMessage: No files found matching mask C:\1Matt\My Games\Elemental\Items\*.xml DebugMessage: No files found matching mask C:\1Matt\My Games\Elemental\Units\*.xml DebugMessage: No files found matching mask C:\1Matt\My Games\Elemental\Stamps\*.xml DebugMessage: No files found m
I have the exact same issue. I suspect it's a lack of video memory. Your 512MB of video memory is not a whole hell of a lot if your trying to run the game at that resoultion. EDIT: Also... https://forums.elementalgame.com/364091
Same here, game crash at the title screen. Seems not found some mp3.
Checking my debug.err and others, this is an expected line. Those files aren't there, or at least they're reporting to not be there for others as well. I suspect it has more to do with whatever it is trying to do at line 218 of the parse.cpp file.
Well, here goes me setting the world on edge. Curiously, I can't save the game. The load screen operates fine as well, but it doesn't show any save games simply because I can't save games.
Yeah, your high-res images definately have an etch-a-sketch feel to them. Your 1024x768 images though are more in line with what I'm experiencing, as it seems to be adheared to some aspect of the map instead of simply thrown at the screen with sticky glue.
Sorry, but I'm currently at the lowest resolution allowed by the game due to what I think is a lack of video memory that prevents assets from drawing at higher resolutions.
I've had something similar. When running my game at 1600x1200 I get this: Reducing my resolution resolves this issue along with lots of other missing text/icons and whatnot. Could this be an example of lack of video memory? DXDiag - http://pastebin.com/m3906cd7a
Same issue. Except I get a very definite imprint at 1024. DxDiag debug.err
Same issue for me. I already had Anti-aliasing disabled though. What fixed it for me was reducing the screen resolution and turning off some effects. Could this be a lack of video memory? My system is really low on it. DXDiag http://pastebin.com/m3906cd7a
I suppose this would be related to this bug. [BUG] Edge scroll is wonky https://forums.elementalgame.com/364077
I'll chime in with a 'me too' on this issue. http://pastebin.com/m42a1a0e3 - debug.err
These issues seem to be related. [BUG] Enemy not where they appear to be https://forums.elementalgame.com/364186
Holding down the left and right mouse buttons at the same time works.
I'd like to chime in with the same issue. I haven't tested if reorienting the camera will change in which direction the camera scrolls when I can find an 'edge' to do it on. debug.err http://pastebin.com/m42a1a0e3
DXDiag - Updated Well, I think I've narrowed down the issue. I had suspected this was some sort of overheating issue, and I'm glad to confrim that this is indeed the case here. Well, not so glad that I'm overheating, but glad because it's not the game that's the specific cause of the green insanity. That's not to say that I don't have other issues... this one though seems to be somewha
During the opening 'movie', I begin to see some really strange flashes and artifacts all over the screen, appearing in wierd places and getting worse as time goes on. After this, it take me to the menu screen where the entire screen is black except for this area outlined in green. I was able to reproduce this once. During the second time, while trying
During installation, I'm asked to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable. That's great, I should already have that. In fact, I have Visual Studio 2008 installed. During the install it acknowledges that I have the 2008 redistributable installed, and asks me if I'd like to repair or uninstall that. I suppose repair is the better option, and select that. Everything goes fine. The install completes after that and proceeds normally. I'm

It sounds as if you're all saying that classic turn-based is the best, except for the fact that during multiplayer matches it slows everything down to a crawl. On the other hand, simultaneous turns can certainly lead to problems, even though they alleviate the waiting problem. How about simply allowing players to manage their Empire/Civilizations during other players turns? In most turn-based games, when another player is acting, you can't do anything. If you could,
