You need to go to the main site and download them. http://www.carpefulgur.com/recettear/ Version 1.106 is the latest version right now.
Good to know. I wonder if they're automatically updating via Steam. The game is definitely high on my list of games to buy. I'll see what comes f
ultimately, i don't think anything will really cut it in 2010 - from both a visual and gameplay point of view - other than real time, total war style battles
King's Bounty & the HOMM series would prove otherwise. Personally, I don't really care for the total war style battles. I mean, sure it can be fun but eventually the novelty wears off for me. When I'm playing a game at a strategic level I'd rather not have
What would be nice to have added to the QuestDef schema is a element. Using the description element as a summary doesn't really work that well in practice. The summary element could also be useful for the mods web page so that people can get a few more details vs. going off of the name - which is only the DisplayName element.
Read the book, watch the show, and play the game! Fantasy Flight Games >> A Game of Thrones LCG
btw, excellent tip on how to test quests w/ using the two islands to separate the player and the AI.
Step #4: The Quest Definition ... Then I wrote up the quest definition.
Quest definition... there's a lot of details glossed over by those two words. Would appreciate if you could comment on the schema of the quest definition and list out what the different options are for some of the elements. Then there are Quest Objective Definitions, Quest Condition Definitions, Quest Choice Definitions. [e digicons]:omg:[/e]

Makes me sad when I see stories like this. I was reading some of the comments on Kotaku and I think some of the comments were right. It just happens that it was an obsession to a video game, but in reality it could have been anything. She wasn't able to cope with the death of her husband and it turned out that she resorted to a video game. Aside from the children, I think the saddest part of the story is that she was able to get to that point without an effective int
Just noticed that Kotaku has a review up on their site as well. Hidden Gems: Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale http://kotaku.com/5636397/hidden-gems-recettear-an-item-shops-tale
Actually if you die in a dungeon you get to keep one item and must start over,(dungeons are randomized and different each time). If you get through the dungeon, the items you gave your adventurer, go back into your inventory and you can sell them at the store. Also once you complete the first dungeon, Tear will tell Recette about a certain feature that makes dungeon diving a little easier in the future. I got killed three times by the troll thin

I just spent a few hours playing the demo. I was surprised, it was actually decent. The tutorial aspect of it was a little repetitive and the introduction was a bit long (would have preferred to speed it up). However once I got into the normal routine of the game it was enjoyable. I didn't get that far into the trial dungeon - kept getting destroyed by the blob spawning chests and later the goat/troll things. What I didn't know is if you had to make it complete
If you're going to eventually buy it anyways, why not just buy it now? Either you play it and enjoy it, or you find that you don't like it in it's current state and you come back to it in a few months. However... if you can wait, wait until the demo is available and see whether or not you like it at that point.
I read the RPS review on this game and am thinking of checking this game out. I had initially looked at it but dismissed it when I saw the screenshots. I figured there wasn't much depth and the idea of playing a simulation of running a store wouldn't be that much fun. From the gist of the review, sounds like the game is much different than what I had originally thought it would be. Now my one regret is that if this was game was on sale last week that I didn't buy it
I think we should come up with an XML list of names for each faction and have the name generator pull from that.
Most excellent. [e digicons][/e]
I'd love it if it remembered names you previously used and displayed them as options in a drop down list. Kind of like when you're filling out forms on the interwebz (if you're saving form history).
The world of Elemental just needs a double rainbow.
Good stuff! Answers some of the questions I had.
Have you checked out the work that is being done on the Crysis engine? MechWarrior: Living Legends http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/ MechWarrior: Living Legends - Walking With Giants Trailer 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGGmmI4QGDA
I respectfully disagree. I really liked how Torchlight looked. Desktop Defenders also looks like it's going to be fun, but I'm sure you won't like that either.
Have fun with Heroscape. My kids love it. [e digicons][/e]
Very nice!
This is an on-going online resource that will, for now, let users view the XML data from the game in a more accessible way. The next step is to make it so that players can modify it in a web-based editor and then download their creations for themselves
This was listed directly under the Hiergamenon section but I'm guessing that also applies to the Mods
