Fix the city building aspect of the game. Get rid of it, rebuild it, or just change it. The city building aspect is the biggest downfall so far fo me with this game. Tile caps and POP caps need to go and they are both unrealistic and bad. Change the food production so every piece of land can grow food except for desert ,tundra and mountains but still have fertile lands that give a significant bonus. Remove the need for placing houses

AoW:SM is definitely playable. [e digicons][/e] I changed a bunch of settings the first time - increased the display mode to 1900x1200, checked "Allow Resolution Switches", checked "Use Direct3D" but wasn't able to watch the intro. So I ended up resetting those options. I put the display mode back to 1024x768 and unchecked the other two options. Game runs fine. Only problem I'm encountering is a BSOD (3x now) after exiting the game. It's with
Rock Paper Shotgun posted an excellent series of articles on Minecraft this week. If you've never heard of it or don't know what it is, I highly recommend reading through these. It's amazing. Don't let the graphics deter you... read through the journal and then make your decision at the end. I personally haven't played but although I was skeptical at first (I mean, c'mon the graphics look like crap) I kept an open mind and read through the "Mine The Gap" series, In t

LOL, looks like you're right. http://www.impulsedriven.com/aowsm I just tried visiting the Shadow Magic page and adding it to my cart and says "There are no items in your cart." So looks like they changed it today. I was able to order it last night and install it. When I view the history, it shows that it's version 1.30. I haven't played it yet though. I still think it's crappy that they're sell
If mods could be stored in their own subfolder, it would make things a lot easier for everyone. The mod author and the player.
I think World of Warcraft's addon manager and the way addons were stored was a good system. I have Sims 3, but I don't recall how it's mod management worked... I don't feel like loading it up either cause then my daughter will be over here asking to play. I think for some mods, it's not a necessity. If it's a tile mod what's the likelihood that something is going to change in an update that makes it incompatible. However, the fact that it could happen should dictate
I played it for a bit last night. The version was 1.2 which is the most current version. I know that if you had the DVD version, the patch was supposed to remove the activation limit or requirement. From what I had read, this didn't apply to digital downloads. The wiki doesn't make the distinction but I'm not going to put faith into the wiki. When I installed it, there was a prompt specific to TAGES. I also checked and there is information stored in t
In that case, unless you're the "digital distribution is the future and boxes are evil" kind of person, I strongly suggest that you buy the retail version and apply the 1.1 patch. It removes TAGES activation completely.
If you can find a copy of the game in retail.

I wonder if people, who installed the mod that patched parts of the game, have remembered to remove them. Hmm... maybe they should consider giving access to the post-QA build for a few days before making it available as a release build. There are people who would be more than willing to test it out and report issues so that some of those could be addressed before making it available to the general public.
Maybe it's the featured Weekend Impulse Buy. [e digicons]:P[/e]

Only took 2 hours after I made the purchase to find out it's available as a package. I so knew that was going to happen. I understand wanting to spread out the announcements, but would have been nice to offer the Trilogy as an option right away. [e digicons]:an
Sorry to hear that James. That's one downside of buying MMOs. If they shutdown, although uncommon, the software is completely useless. At least with singleplayer games the game is still playable even if the developer/publisher is gone. Granted the older it is, the more trouble it might be to get it running, but still. At least with Hellgate: London, it was playable in singleplayer mode and had a final patched released that I think may have opened up some stuf
