A whole game finished in 12 hours first day? I think I'm gonna call bs on this one and that AAR is from some beta build you played earlier. You would have to know every feature, nook and cranny to be able to do something like that an even then I would highly doubt it. I used to put 72 hours into Civilization to finish it.
I have absolutely no idea why you are doubting him on this one.

If you're playing singleplayer, you should be playing with one of the many new race or race addition mods anyways, which pretty much means any community patch changes are minor in comparison.
I think you're mistaking simple declarations as promises. It's "The maps will be epic and huge" vs. "I promise that we will never cut that feature." There is a difference, at least in my eyes. Don't forget: "If you are not willing to work with technical support on any problems you are having, or request a refund even if you are not having problems using the software, we will issue a partial refund of 75%. To receive a partial refund, please email <a href="mailto:sales@st
The only 4X games I've been able to continuously come back to are Civ4, SMAC, and AoW:SM. I don't think that'll be changing any time soon. I thnk it'll take a lot of modding for Elemental to rise above AoW:SM. Speaking of which, someone should get swolte in here to start modding (among others like JediKnight, Darth, dwigg, Crawler and SaberCherry).
Why exactly should I be the one to do that exactly? I do recall this is a thread about me looking for help.
Woah. Not going to get more team members with that attitude. I was just pointing you to a good example case since I don't have the time to be a full blown group member. I'm helping by pointing you to valuable info. I was going to suggest http://www.gamedev.net/ ,
Not really sarcastic at all. Just throwing in valuable information in a comical light. Seriously, if you are going to write something about MMO developments look further into APB. It is an amazing example of so many mistakes on every level: the way they went about securing financing, doing beta testing, network architecture, gameplay and advertising. There's a lot to learn from that one.
Rule #1 Everything that APB did, do the opposite of. Also, don't spend $100 million on development.
Good luck finding Starcraft 2 for a good price. That game is going to stay high priced for ages and ages.
The amount of sitting around doing nothing in this game is appalling. I feel like it's MOO3 where the game just plays itself and there's little a player can actually do. Quite a huge step back from EU3.
Radically different how? Each debug.err I've submitted since the first beta report is almost a perfect line for line copy. None of them make it past "Debug Message: GFX-THREAD: DISABLED"
http://pastebin.com/MVy7DNgx
No change.
Update my video drivers to what? My drivers have been the latest version when i first reported the problem, and they still are. Are you suggesting I need to use unsupported third-party drivers from somewhere?
http://pastebin.com/mbjfmyFz I get a black screen followed by an immediate CTD with "Elemental has stopped working" I never see anything but black. Running without the launcher makes no difference.

So I have absolutely no way of knowing if I'll even be able to start up the game since it hasn't started in multiple betas in a row. I'm going to have to seriously consider just canceling my preorder to be safe.
Good god man, use some sort of text hosting service. Hopefully, now that there's at least five of us maybe this problem will get fixed.
Can you post your DxDiag? Do you have an unusual video card or default resolution?
All that information is already in the debug.err file I posted. I could post my DxDiag when I get home if I remember, but in ten+ years I've never had a problem solved through DxDiag info.
Reinstallation of directX and video drivers resulted in no change. Uninstalling Elemental and reinstalling, no change.
As with betas 3a-3c:
No luck. Also no change with any of the following: -Changing to a single monitor desktop -Deleting the prefs file/resetting it to default values -Changing to windowed mode in the prefs file.
Same problem as all the 3a-3c betas. Starting the elemental launcher and hitting 'play game' in the launcher results in a black screen and a quick crash back to the desktop. I just uninstalled and reinstalled again. http://pastebin.com/ZxaRqj10
Try setting the resolution to match your desktop in the prefs.ini file (it can be found in My Documents\My Games\Elemental).
No luck. Also no change with any of the following: -Changing to a single monitor desktop -Deleting the prefs file/resetting it to default values -Changing to windowed mode in the prefs file. They all result in the same app crash pointing to elemental.exe and user32.dl
Most tactical combat games that allow this type of combat will allow attacked units to retaliate so you can't exploit the movement difference so much.
No error, and no dump zips are even created. I try to run Elemental, it goes to a black screen and then back to desktop. All I can get is the error log. http://pastebin.com/F5H00M48
I guess electronics needs something, but I don't know what if anything needs to be done to exotica. As far as UI style in concerned I really don't know at the moment. One thing I was considering was how the GUI style is guying to affect the maps. The latest mockup would probably look totally out of place on some of the maps that have been made. There's not a lot of maps made currently so it doesn't really matter if some maps can't be used because of the style. However, we need to keep
