Hi Yarlen, thank you, as soon as I have broadband again (very soon I hope) I will get it. I don't know what is going on with the save system, perhaps bad installation or the game doesn't like me lol.

I tried the demo again and it feels quite good. Was thinking of buying only to stop cause of two reasons. 1) Is it true it contains starforce protection or not? 2) The save system is bugged like hell. Some times it saves the game, sometimes it does not. Has this been fixed in the full game or not? Cheers.
2 things. First, to clarify what I said earlier. Seeing an ad will NOT make me buy a game, what it will do is make me want to learn more about it if the game is unknown to me, or remind me that the game is on sale, there are so many games out there that sometimes you just forget about the title you wanted to buy when you see another title. Second, I am not in favour of humour to promote 4x strategy games (or most strategy games). Case in point Spaceward ho!&nb
Well, CGM is the best PC magazine there is IMO. And I trust their reviews, though I do not always agree with them. Though I haven't been able to buy a magazine of theirs for close to 2 years now, I was looking at the ads. From my experience/taste the ads work better when the art is in game art, not from cutscenes or irrelevant, but from actual gameplay. Also, I dislike, not sure how to call them, words that are "cool/hip/whateve
Ok, I am member of TG for a while now (since about the release of altarian prophecy) and I am very satisfied with TG and stardock in general. Something that I do mentioned in other forums when appropriate. I have a couple of things to say/ask. First of all, why can't I press enter to create a paragraph here? Next to the TG specific. The recent releases (earth 2150 and
Isn't podcasting just a recording on mp3 format? If yes, I would hate to see this staying as a word like how many people use ipod for all mp3 players. Seriously hate it.
It is called Reviews, but nowdays we all know how some well known magazines/sites give their marks...
These people need to get laid as soon as possible.
First of all I disagree that DS1 was a screensaver. The game was close to excellent for what it was, a dungeon hack and slash game. It was more for the old 80s generation and for the people who loved Diablo series, but it was not an RPG, though it had elemts of one. IMO of course. I haven't downloaded the demo yet of DS2 and I do not want to comment on the graphics just with screenshots. If some gamers want to complain about the graphics i
Heh, my first encounter with them were in that ST TNG episode. I guess it could be implemented in a 4X game, though I admit I never thought about it before reading this thread. Though I would guess it would be easier to do so in Galactic Civ 1 than its sequel... Of course the problem would be if the tech and time to build this was very far in the game, wouldn't you have already destroyed the enemy civs or lost the game by then? If not, it would
The main thing that annoys me with Civ4 is the way the religions are played. Being a non major religion person it annoys me that I have to play as one in the game. Yes, in the previous games there wasn't much of a choice either, but at least there was a choice of not building say cathedrals in your cities. I admit I wouldn't mind if there were more religions available for the player to choose, like oh say belief in the Olympian gods for the greeks/r
Good move IMO. I doubt it would sell much on the PC. PC gamers tend to buy less crap than the rest, and from what I have seen this game is bound to be full of it. Just my opinion of course.
Why is it Atari's fault for the MOO3 monster? Quicksilver is responsible for making a horible horible game. For once it wasn't the publisher's fault.
Please delete this, mistake on my part.
I might be alone on this one. I have no problem with the current trend. The games always had shit load of bugs. If games will continue this tradition, but look better, then it is fine with me. There will always be space for independent/small developers since there will always be a space to cover. They might be fewer over the years, but there will be there/here. The quality of both types of games will only get better. Capitalism works and as long
Star Pilot, that single last ship of the Drengin home fleet could only retreat once per two turns. OR, it could be forced to move away from the battlefield +1 movement so that it cannot come back immediately and have the problem you mentioned. Or, If it tries for a second time to retreat, have the % chances reduced a lot, and perhaps making a 3rd time impossible.
In general I am in favour of larger amount of ships, however not if the current way of running things remains. If there are "proper" fleets, more in line with say Stars! or even Space Empires and Reach for the Stars, then I would LOVE to be able to build hundrends of ships in a game. As things are in GC1, apart that there is no reason to try (for me anyway), you just build a few powerful ships and just kill everything, it is also very bad micromanage
Thank you Zoomba. I figured that (about the number), but I couldn't care less if I give him points or whatever. It did give me an extra reason to not try the game though. I haven't played any web-based empire game so I don't know what that means in terms of gameplay. But as I said I don't care anymore, so nevermind <img src="http://images.stardo
Why are there no screenshots? I have no idea what the game is really like or how it plays. Too general comments and not enough clear information.
I just want to say that the title of this thread is fantastic.
Why don't you use different colours? So, as you said you have the same icon image for those 3 planet events. Have different colour for each type of event. Say (random now) red for the successful invasion, yello for the building, and green for the conversion. This in combination of Solitair's idea could work. So you do get one icon that "deploys" the other two, and each of them has different colour. And to make clear which events are multiple event
I agree with Jae. Only that instead of having each race having to act/play in any particular way, having bonuses if they do, but nothing more. So that you are not force to play in any specific way when you play as one, but instead you are rewared if you do. Oh, and BOTF was not a good game. It IS a great game. I still play it.
Star Pilot I agree to your post, except the point #2. Great graphics do not disappear in time from the gaming experience. Bad 3D do.
I don't know what SD is going to do with this, but, don't you think we should wait a bit before we condemn them for overpricing of games way before the new system is implemented? How do you know that a game X will not be 2 tokens from 4 when it is first released, after some time?
Well, I don't know, but here is a personal theory. The game was released a few months ago. Now, after the end of the elections in the USA (the main market for this game I presume), and months after the first release, the game is probably not going to sell many more copies for UBisoft. So, they might be thinking, "why spend money on QA for a 'dead' game, we already have the money of those who would buy
