Have you tried going to the galciv1 forum: https://www.galciv1.com/forum.asp If you put "crash" or something similar in the search box, you get several entries. Maybe there is something there that can help you. I have the steam version too, and I have had no problems.

So I went to download the newest update for the beta, but I wasn't sure if I already had the previous one. I considered downloading the entire game, but took the chance and downloaded the 901 MB update. When I tried to install it, I was told that I needed the previous one. I immediately thought, "damn, what now. How do I even get that one!", but then I read the prompt, and it said that it would take me to the site where I could download the missing update. And so it did. It opened

This project is very ambitious and I'm not sure they can pull it of; but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and my money. :) I really want them to succeed and I'm looking forward to having a star system named after me (not my forum name of course).
I've had this happen too and so have a lot of other people. I can't use my auto-saves either. I'm reluctant to start a new game since I expect it will happend again. Does anyone know of a way to avoid it? I need to add that with this new build, I'm finding the game more interesting than ever. So I'm looking forward to start playing again.
It's supposed to give units trained in the city +1 hitpoint for every grain. It doesn't do anything in my current game. It's the first time I've build it so I don't know if it is consistent.
I had another battle start up just as I had started a battle. I was clicking on one af the enemy unit portraits and I got the battle pop-up. I clicked to fight the battle and the game crashed.
I play on small maps with 4 players. I like early action, and I dislike the late-game micromanagement of larger maps (experience from other turn based strategy games).

So I got the 'escort the nobleman's daughter' quest. Most of you probably know it. I needed the extra money so I decided to hand her over to the bandits. Then it says that she bursts into tears as she is handed over. That made me feel horrible. So are the good or bad choices in these quests similar to the choices you had to make in GalCiv? Will they have and impact on your game later? Maybe it isn't implemented yet?
I just had the same problem because I changed my password, but the game actually told me how to solve it (in an error window). Try to put in /username "your new username" /password "your password" after ...FallenEnchantress\FallenEnchantress.exe in the 'target'-line in the desktop shortcut under 'shortcut'. It should look like this: ...FallenEnchantress\FallenEnchantress.exe /username Morkleb /password ******** (I obviously don't know your password).
Just had a similar problem. All saves from one particular game broken, but work for other games. I did get a dump however, and I've sent it.

I have a couple of suggestions after playing for a few days now. To keep the post small I won't go too much into detail. This is of course all debatable and my insight is limited. 1. It should be possible to raze your own outposts. 2. Distance between cities should be larger than 7 tiles. 3. When a farm/orchard or such is destroyed then the city's population shouldn't immediately drop to the new maximum. It should slowly
I probably won't be using the zoom mode. I remember that it annoyed me in WoM. I don't like the angle changing. I prefer to always look at the map from the same direction.
Hmm, I don't like the caravan system either, but right now I'm having another problem. I sent two caravans (from different cities) to an unconnected city, but when they arrived they couldn't enter the city and create the route. I just get the "bump" sound and they won't move in. What am I doing wrong? EDIT: Nevermind, it works now... guess it was just a bug.

There doesn't seem to be any way to interact with your own outposts. Is it not possible to raze them?
How do I assign a leader?
I designed a unit with the trait Shieldwall (+1 Defense to all units in this unit's army) and equiped him with a Compass (+1 Moves for the army the unit is in). None of these bonuses seem to work. I grouped the unit in my sovereign's army, but did not get an extra move and no additional defense points for the other units. Only the unit itself got these bonuses.
I just had my first crash. I've sent the zip file. Should I do this every time I get a crash?
I clicked on the portrait of a pack of wolves and got this glitch.
