It's a lot of fun. The AI is still not that bright, but the smaller maps seems to help a bit. The DLC seems insane priced, but you don't need it since they are releasing an editor. One could make all that crap if they really wanted too.

I hope when they do make GC 3 that it feels alive. I find I can't play any other space game since Distant Worlds. DW just feels so alive with all kinds of things going on. Plus the new expansion is awesome.

I got some more playtime in. I still don't see any issue with the UI. Maybe it's me I have been playing some late 80's early 90's games lately, but Eador seems very straightforward to me. I have found a nasty bug when attacking your own guards. I have some robbers as guards for one of my cities. That city seems to go into rebel every turn, so I decided it's time to replace the robbers. Well attacking them causes all kinds of issues. First my guys dont show on the c

My first impressions are good. I never played the beta, so have no clue about the UI for it. I have no issues with any of the UI in the release version. Everything looks straightforward to me. There few glitches here and there, but no show stoppers yet.

I'm currently playing Planescape Torment. This game is brilliant.

That just re-enforces my resolve to never buy another single player game that requires Steam.
That is a good point and I agree with you. I prefer a popup box telling me if a patch is available for install. Most games I don't worry about it, but Skyrim I do (got the patch yesterday). I have a ton of mods installed; very easy for things to go wrong.<
So I will have to use the Steam-client to be able to play? Damn. Well, thanks for the answer. It seems I won't be playing LH after all. I tried Steam before, but I had so many problems with the client, that I'm not willing to put up with it anymore.
I recommend you give Steam another go. They constantly update the client. I been running the beta version for months now with zero issues.
Is Steam only necessary for installing and patching LH, or will I have to run Steam to be able to play LH, too?
It works the same as any other game on Steam using Steamworks. As long as you login online once off-line mode will work when your outside of internet range barring any Steam hiccups. Thanks Stardock, game looks great!!

Where did you read that from? I have yet to see anything about micro-transactions. During the live video chat today they only mentioned the 5 chapters i.e. expansions. I tried to ask about DLC, but the chat was scrolling too fast. I'm good with DLC. I don't think they'll skimp on the single player, but I do expect they will fully develop the multiplay. At least it's not another MMO. :)

Richard Garriott announced his new game yesterday. Shroud of The Avatar, I like what I see, single player with multiplayer, but not a MMO. This is the first Kickstarter game I have ever supported and really only because I loved the old Ultima(s), Ultima 4 being my favorite. I hope he applies his Ultima magic to this game and it doesn't turn out to be crap like some of those more recent games he has worked on.

SSD the only way to go. I picked up Samsung 840 250GB (the non pro version) cheap, plus they was giving Far Cry 3 out for free. I will never go back to HDD for the bootdrive.

Imperium Galactum was my gateway drug. I played it so much I literally wore out the floppy disk. I miss my C64. Civ certainly has gotten plenty of play time too.
Thanks. I've been seeing a lot of talk of demo and beta, but I can't find either. There's a huge green "Sign Up" button on the Endless Space site, but clicking that gets you an "Error 404" -- that's disheartening. Not even a download tab. Am I missing something?
That is just for the forum signup which works fine for me. You have to pre-order to play the beta on Steam.

The devs are planning a update at the end of this month. I expect this will be the multiplayer update, since they have a internal working build of multiplayer.

I like Steam. I've been with them since the beginning and they have never done me wrong. As others have said I buy games from them all. I almost never buy retail; the last thing I want is a cd/dvd that gets lost. IMO Steam and the other digital distributions services have been god-send for pc gaming.

Since 64 bit is the future of gaming, for those who don't know the next version of Frostbite 2 engine is going 64 bit only. Yes it currently powers the Battlefield shooters, but Command & Conquer Generals 2 will be using it. I'm sure there will be more titles using this engine as well. IMO it's about damn time. So I voted YES.
