dump it. afaik you need to log on to the metaverse before you even start your game. ive just finished mine and it seems you cant post it on the metaverse for security reasons. would have been cool had i been told *EARLIER* bout this ... before starting a game you need to log on to the metaverse, it seems. or something. You mean
CTB123
That's cool, and so easy to do I of course would have never have thought of that myself. Thanks for the tip! Tony
There have been several posts about this, including one with 20 posts in it just a little further down the page. The Starbase bonus will only improve ships that have an attack of defense. Your example shows a starbase with a ship defense bonus of 10%, and no ship bonus on attack. Your defender has a defense rating of zero, so there is nothing to give a bonus to. Tony
I would like this as well. Tony
You guys have earned it! Tony
The game works and appears to be well balanced. It is just a matter of deciding when to build improvements. Just because you can build something does not mean you should. I have no problem supporting all sorts of improvements mid-game, but you have to work to get your economy humming. Tony
Can you change your build order to "Nothing"? Tony
I do like the new HardChoices approach. I don't need lots of details and duplication for the sake of it in a game. Tony
They are specific items that become available with certain technologies. Once they are available to build, you still have to build them on a planet to make them active. Frictionless Clothing and Micro-Repair Bots are two examples. Page 57 of your manual. Tony
Nope, there is not. Tony
Boy those minors can be tough. I have about 25% of my current Galaxy's resources an planets, and have had a long drawn out war with a minor that has only 3 planets. He was way ahead of me in Tech in multiple areas. I finally took out all his ships. He begged for peace, and I managed to get a huge pile of techs from him in exchange for peace. A number of turns latter, he declares war on me and has several fleets of mid-sized ships that are now walking all over my fleets.
You've read the manual, right? Tony
You can Trade them to other races for Money or Tech. (Having a Doh moment now? ) They can be rather valuable. Tony
How do you think it is less complex? That's a very general statement you made without any details to discuss. Tony
You can not modify a Core design. It even states that in the manual. One reason is the Core designs, when they first become available to you, are typically more powerful than what you can make yourself. You can upgrade designs you make yourself. I would like the option to take the appearance of a Core design and update it. I understand I may have to place all components, but it
Jeesh, I know what you guys mean. I have stayed up 2 - 3 hours past my bedtime the last several nights. I can't keep doing this . . . . Tony
The questions is can you build a mining starbase over a resource that had previous mining starbase destroyed. I have not had the opportunity to try this since the Friday patch. Tony
I think it is the route, not the ship that makes the difference. A fast ship can get your route started quicker, but after that, they are all handled the same. Tony
The piece you are going to place shows up in the 3-D view with the ship. It just takes a little practice to get things to line up in the 3-D view, and sometimes it is a little tough to judge scale of an item (size can be adjusted by a slider) till after you snap the piece into place. Overall, it works very well and is lots of fun. If you want, you can just press the "Place" button and the computer will slap the piece somewhere for you, but you can sure do some cool looking stuff if
Have you read the Sticky's about Dual Core processors? I haven't as I don't have one, but you apparently do. Nice rig, by the way! Tony
because game mechanics don't always need completely rational real-world explanations LOL! Tony
I think the issue of covered arcs and so on falls into the wish by some for tactical combat. It has been extensively discussed, and for various reasons including a very small coding staff and the difficulty in getting the AI to play well with all the issues tactical combat requires, is pretty unlikely to happen. I would enjoy tactical combat a well, but I certainly understand why it probably will not happen. As far as the issue of limiting what you can add, in the end, it
I commented in another thread about the tool tips being touchy or not coming up at all when looking at the ships in orbit screen of the planet display. The top line is touchy, but I can get the tool tip to go if I stop moving the cursor for a bit and then move it a bit more as suggested by a Stardock person. The tooltip does not come up at all for ships in the second line of the display. This was true of pre and post Friday patch. Tony
Well, it is a game and does add another layer of decisions and choices to be made. I don't have a big problem with it. Civ and other TBS's all use it and I guess I am just used to the concept now. Tony
I don't recall rings giving any advantage either. As far as I know, it is strictly luck of the draw. Tony
