Anybody else surprised by the relative lack of major professional reviews for this game? The game has been out for over a week and Metacritic still only has 3 professional reviews listed? I know this is not considered a AAA major release, but I really thought it deserved more coverage than it seems to be getting?

I'm guessing (hoping?) this is a joke? LOL
I don't think he's complaining that the AI cheats, but rather about the EXTENT to which he feels it cheats. The question I have is whether the game is actually cheating to that extreme he feels it is, or whether they are only moderate cheats combined with the AI understanding the game mechanics better. It is unclear whether this player has compared the "challenging" level versus the "expert" level, because he was unspecific about which "lower difficulty" levels he was
Probably a stupid noob question, but is there a way to see what the tile yields are on different squares without actually moving a sovereign/settler unit there first?
I know people hate seeing positive comments about Civ5, but I liked the fact that you could have a viable victory strategy in that game that only required building 1-3 cities. =)
When will the game be availae to download direct from SD? Will direct customers be able to get steam keys?
Can we please have the game show our units movement path and allow us to confirm or cancel BEFORE the unit actually moves? It is so frustrating when your unit moves off and wastes its whole turn moving in some unexpected way you did not want/intend it to move due to pathfinding issues or unexpected terrain movement costs. =(
Has anyone seen the DEVs address this issue at all?
I can't believe nobody else bothered to add their thanks? Wow... =/
Hi, I was a pre-order customer for E:WoM. I really want to thank you for caring about your customers and giving E:WoM customers a free copy of FE. I think a LOT of people appreciate this, but I don't remember ever seeing a thank you thread for doing this - and I feel you deserve one. I've bought MANY other games from other companies that were disappointments, and you are the ONLY company who ever seemed to care enough to go this far out of your way to
I've been begging since the beta of E:WoM (Maybe even GalCiv I forget?) to have the option to see and confirm a unit's movement path to a destination before the unit just goes running off, but it has never seemed to be put in. Every other TBS I have ever played has this feature...I can't understand why it is so conspicuously absent in SD games? There have been so many times my units have not done what I thought they would do when I ordered them to move, and it is r
Hi, So I was really excited to see the new Elemental game was almost ready for release as I have been really excited about the possibilities of this game since a year before the original Elemental game was released. But coming to the forum to see what's new, it looks like the whole forum seems to be completely over-run with bug reports which kind of scares me this close to release. Is this game truly READY for release?
I really wish your unit did not immediately move when you right-clicked somewhere. I wish you could right-click-hold to see the movement path and number of turns to arrive and drag around to different destinations until you like what you see, then release the right mouse button to move. The way it is now, you right click and the unit just starts running off on it's way whether you like the path it has chosen or not. If you decide you don't like it, you've alrea
I wish a right-click did not instantly move you, but rather showed you the movement path including how many turns it will take the unit to arrive. You should be able to hold the right mouse button down and move the mouse around to different destinations until you are happy with the results, then initiate movement by RELEASING the right mouse button. The way it is now, you can't see the path your unit will take until it's too late and they have already wasted a
I voted yes because : I honestly don't know if I'd ever personally USE multi-player, but sure if it's only one measly dollar to retain the OPTION to use it and make it available for all the other people who would use it: I'd absolutely pay a dollar! Even $2-3 would be a yes for me regardless of whether I ever personally used it. If the
Hi, I just received an e-mail suggesting I re-install Stardock Central, so I did that. The problem is that now the only software I see in my account is Elemental: War of Magic? My purchased copies of GalCiv, GalCiv2 and all the expansions, Sins of a Solar empire, and also the beta for Fallen Enchantress are all missing? Is there anything I need to do to get access to this software again? Thanks, --Anthony
Excellent stuff, thanks for posting! Just one thing that would kill all sense of realism: the squareness as seen in the mini-map, in the final pic. Pleeease, do something to break this up a bit. I guess this is a tiny map, but any hint of regularity really knocks you out of the immersion in a wild and mysterious world.
Yea, although I get the idea of fitting in more interesting stuff, I have to agree about
Looks really GREAT! I am really excited to get my hands on this upgrade. =)
Not at all interested in mp.
These creatures look very cool and interesting...very much a step in the right direction!
I have to be honest, even though this answer will probably not be popular: I pre-ordered E:WOM and tried playing it for a couple weeks and just didn't like it. I have faith in Stardock and still hope the game will be made great, BUT... I'm kinda waiting for a FULL expansion or something to "fix" it or to hear from somebody how much better it is - before I invest much time in it
Why start a thread where the only purpose is to complain about and make fun of people? So-called "Fanboys" are just people who like a product well enough that they feel defensive about it? It might not be a rational response, but they aren't hurting anybody. Just live and let live? =)
I don't actually mind if the AI cheats as long as it's not obvious that it is cheating, and particularly if it doesn't FEEL like the AI is playing under a completely different set of rules than me. That being said, I'd still much prefer an AI good enough to provide a challenge without cheating at all.
Thanks! =)
