Key is getting Interstellar Specialization 2 (less mass for colony modules) and Dense +2 as a trait. This lets you put colony modules on tiny hulls. Rush buying a tiny hull with a colony module costs 110 credits. Rush buying a support hull with a colony module costs a lot more. Also, don't forget the constructor trick. Pragmatic Level 1 gives you 3 free constructors. Quickly colonize a planet outside of your home system, and choose Pragmatic +3 Const

Rehabilitated in what way? I only choose strategies that I believe is optimal. If the environment changes, I will adapt with it. GC3 is practice for the markets. Yeah, starting money nerf is probably the next step. That's a good idea. SD needs to create control groups for planets. That's the best and simplest idea. Will help with micro too.

Ohohohohhohhohohohhohohoh. OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHHO. [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] Colonizer is quite amazing, especially in combo with Prolific. Main advantage of colonizer? It allows me to QUICKLY build up my research and economy worlds (literally twice as fast) which generates the income and research for FURTHER expansion. Turn 60, 60 colonies. NO DEFICIT. LET ME REPEAT THAT: NO DEFICIT.

Build 5 different colonizers with varying amounts of engines and life support. Basically: nearby planets should be colonized by colonizers with no engines or 1 engine and ZERO life support. Longer range colonization missions use more engines and life support. Also get fast +2. This means even your non-engine ships can move at 3 speed.

You realize you can turn on the star map and see where the stars are in the galaxy? And then all you have to do is send your colony ships in the direction of the stars, right? Also, you do know you can design your own colony ships? What ideology? The ideology you should be getting is the Benevolence Research Branch.

Prolific is quite amazing. Combine that with +2 pop upon colonizing and EVERY colony begins with 6.5 pop and 3.25 Raw production. A double-module colony ship will start with 11 pop. And this is WITHOUT colonizer's +100% social production. Prolific + Wealthy is good.

Ok, but if you leave it at 1% there will be balance issues regarding certain buildings like Power Matrices and Krynn Coordination temples that rely ALMOST ENTIRELY on adjacency bonuses. The adjacency nerf makes those buildings effectively worthless. I'd nerf adjacency bonuses down to 3%. 1% is a little too low. And change those coordination buildings to provide some raw production bonus or something. Also, you may have nerfed the research line too
Thanks! It was not clear what the startconditions were for the instructions you have given: galaxy size and type + how many races ?You play marigoldran on insane maps, while i am playing on a gigantic map, because the memory limit on my computer. I hope i passed my exam ..lol 3 % of x =8 can be rewritten as 0.03x = 8 .... 3x = 800 ... x= 800/3 ... x = in fractions 266

Damn you, Naselus. Now I have to ACTUALLY THINK (as opposed to following through on a programmed script). With adjacency bonuses nerfed as much as it is, you should consider changing higher level versions of the buildings to provide much larger bonuses than before. As the game stands as of now, there is absolutely no reason to get higher level buildings BECAUSE THEY PROVIDE ALMOST NO BENEFIT compared to other things like constructors and starbases. It
Hello fellow players; I've been playing GalCiv III for 2-3 days. I played SOASE, Civ series, Beyond Earth. I am kind of familiar to the genre. But as the topic says i am kind of lost in this game. But thanks to replies, i started to improve my game and enjoy it. I still dont know what i am doing. I just spammed colony and cons. ships at the beginning and i manage to grab more than half of the map. (i am

The instructions were clear: you start the game with Colonizer and probably Patriotic, which allows players to rush shipyards on newly colonized planets. Consequently you don't need to waste 50 turns building a shipyard. And yes, you should be exploring with your colony ships BY HAND. If you aren't going to follow instructions then there's no point in explaining anything more to you. Best of luck in your game and in your life. Janh

I've been trying to get him trade in the stock market with fake money so that he could get practice. Much better to lose fake money than real money. Didn't catch on. What he should do in the future is a serious concern for everyone involved. My general opinion is that he should join the military, get the GI Bill, and then go to college. That way even if he blows off his college courses like the way he blows off his high school classes he won'

Yeah, well, best of luck to you. The problem is that from my perspective it's hard to tell whether you're pretending to be untalented at strategy or whether you're genuinely un-talented at strategy. In the past I would have automatically selected the former, but experience has taught me otherwise. I've worked with some people who still don't understand fractions at age 16. Trying to teach them the concept is... difficult. And having worked with him
