Happened to me too. I had stationed units, one turn I got the message that Kraxis took over the city (without a fight), and found my previously stationed units stand right next to the city.

Place a link from the screen of faction trading to the screen of faction relations. Currently you can do the opposite: from faction relations you can click "Speak To" to jump to the faction trading window, but if you want to do the opposite, you have to exit the screen, hit "Govern", hit "Faction Relations". A simple button would be very welcome.

Moving all the boring skills to automatic gain at level up could help solving both problems (heroes feeling weak, too long and boring trees). For example a Warrior may gain +1 attack every level, and leave the choice of skill to juicy ones. One step furter would maybe set a path for these automatic skills. The city is really bad, can't evolve past village. It won't have any good building or production. It's good only if you're mana starved, for its essence count, otherwise I usually try to raze it as soon as possible.

I forgot that custom faction had also the starting 500 gildar. Still I tested on my side, with same map settings and faction. On a 4/3+1/2 tile, I got the Bazar up in 60 turns, as reference. +47 Turns = Researching economics +29 Turns = Building time -16 Turns = Rushing with all my savings (795g)

If this is not a bug, it looks way over the top, even counting the AI advantages from game settings. Problem: AI faction built a Merchantcross Bazar at turn 27. Background: Playing with slowest settings for both research and production. Custom AI faction starting with the Scholar trait (+10% research). AI was on Expert level. Casting multiple spells in world view is way too clumsy, everytime you cast, you have to open spellbook and search through the pages. Suggestion: 1. Allow for multiple casting, maybe keeping SHIFT (or whatever key) pressed. Usuful for buffing an entire group

Only heroes or strong single units (like storm dragons). You need a lot of melee damage to compensate for his constant drain health. Since he has high magic resistance he's difficult to damage with spells or even to counterspell the healing.
