It's ok fellas - problem solved - bought a new fandango monitor - running 1920x1028 like the big boys :) Thanks for all assistance :)

Thanks HF - clearing the temp files worked - now I just have the same problem as kmkenpo with the pop-up not being centered - highest res I can get 1280x1024 - downloaded Desktopx but no idea where to start - I think you can tell I'm no coder. Well not at least since the z80 days.
Did we get a Holy City spell?
I got the game through Steam and so have unpacked to the relevant folder - steamapps/blah blah/screens - but don't get the mod - incidentally the ecomap mod works fine so it's not something silly like I don't have 'use mods' enabled any ideas?
Uprgading the size of the unit should really be a standard feature once the appropriate tech has been learned. However, to provide balance the level of the unit should decrease as the veteran unit has taken on new recruits.
sacoured the amp = scoured the amp :\
so I went to the epic dragon statue, did the questline got a dragon eye, went to another, same sort of vibe, got a dragon eye - now have two of them - I've sacoured the amp - there are no more epic dragon statues - any ideas?
Might I Suggest a mod - if you are missing elves and the like https://forums.elementalgame.com/421802
If only there was a way to post "I'm not going to dignify this by replying" without actually posting [e digicons]:hrmph:[/e]
Thank you Heavenfall, patient posters like yourself are a godsend (see I did a Heavenfall ref there) to lazy and impatient posters like myself.
Aye, the faces could be a little better and while we're talking aesthetics - could some kind modder make additional clothing meshes for the models? I'm particularly thinking of feminine haberdashery that is economic with the amount of cloth used. But yeh, perving apart, gameplay mods are more important.
Defintive Steam answer - It will (and certainly should have done by now, unless you have been offline) update FE automatically. I see the perks have been balanced when creating a new kingdom/empire - fair dinkum I 'spose, tho I will miss my overpowered enchanter perk ;)
*dodgy bump* I generated a map and it had 'S' icons, that I assume were meant to symbolise starting positions. On the next map I generated there were no 'S' icons. Can someone perleeeeease advise how the map editor works. No matter what tool or tile I select i cannot seem to 'edit' anything.
how does it work - I've been clicking away to try and modify a generated map - no matter what I click nothing changes - any ideas?
Installed this last night - big improvement on default. Better locations for cities etc. Of course this means that the enemy is also getting good starting locations too - should make for some titanic struggles.
I noticed steam auto-updated me from .991 to .992 but all of this has got me concerned. Can someone get an answer to this question please? Will steam users have to uninstall and download from Stardock or will Steam auto-update like they did with the Betas?
Just make them backline Archers/Healers, since the last update and the improvement to designing non-henchman units I mostly use them as a support unit (bow and life magic) to heal and shoot. A tooled up sov with a couple of melee unts is enough to wade in and keep the enemy away from your vulnerable rear - I find.
Not going to sort old school/new school as some I played in the Amiga days but carried on through the series to Windows - listing top 10 with no order Total War series (especially the third age mod in medieval II) LoTRO (the only MMORPG that kept my interest long enough - you can only, kill, loot, level up for so long before your brain dies) Civ series Dune series (Dune 2 and Emperor:Battle for Dune, the latter being the pinnacle of the RTS ge
Morrowind was better. They really went a step backwards by making the game console compatable.
I totally agree, Morrowind was an amazing game. It was dark and atmospheric. I did enjoy both Oblivion and Skyrim and played Oblivion for a good while but found that i didn't play Skyrim for quite as long. While the graphics are improving (as they should) the gameplay is getting dumbed down for the mass market. Thank your prefer
I came across this game by accident a couple of weeks ago. On the strength of some online previews and the faith of the exisiting hardcore fans, I bought it. Been playing 2 weeks now - never finished a game tho - because the frequent updates make me want to start a new game to take advantage etc. It really is a great game, the deptth is practically bottomless. When I think I've got a handle on how a thing works, I discover another layer to it. I'm becoming a St
This is a game, not reality.
Hear hear, a voice of sanity amidst a sea of lunatics. Imagine the cry being taken up of 'not enough realism' in a fantasy game! A rabble of margin-dwellers scraping an existence from a hostile environment does not an army make.
If you read my initial response you will see I misunderstood the question and thought it related to the AI attacking human cities. This is a measure of how grown up I can be - I can publicly admit my mistakes. However; If the AI decides to rely on militia and not adequately defend it's cities then it's the AI that is found wanting and bolting on a steel cuirass isn't really a solution. Improving the AI to be a better defender is the solution.
Still having some event scheduling issues. When I create a new city, I can build max two items before I am kicked out of the build screen. This also seems to trigger an 'end of turn' even if character moves have not been played, Tech announcements jump in the middle of building as well.
I too have noticed this.
With build 0.99 all of my custom-made units have disappeared. Is this normal? Before you all jump on me and beat me senseless with your verbal truncheons, please be aware I only started playing this game last week.
Just a personal opinion but I don't think militia should get any upgrades. Militia is your grandad grabbing his old pointy stick to see off the barbarians. I think it would detract from having to build some decent defensive troops to protect your cities. What's next? 'ED-209 patrol' upgrade? Where does it stop?
