Item weight and the encumbrance system also need to play more of a factor in the equation. -4 init penalty means nothing to a heavily encumbered unit.
Sad but true. Sincerely ~ Kongdej

Just make it *impossible* to settle in monster lair threat areas (you have to clean up the monster lair before settling, just like clearing wildlands). This way the AI would also have a much easier time playing like the human player and not cheating by being in peace with the monsters. Then add the rarer wandering monsters that attack cities and voilá.
Would make stuff more interesting I th
Hi there, was playing around with a custom faction, and noticed that "Guile" (Player earns double influence) does not affect both: the influence you start with from diplomat, nor the influence gained from heroic, when completing quests. Sincerely ~ Kongdej
Y As for what exactly makes up the power rating, not sure. I do think population, influence, and technology points make up part of it. Influence seems pretty useless on the most part, but considering its role in power rating it might be worth it to go after the scenic views. The diplomat background for sovereigns only grant 20 influence, while stating I should start with 40. Sincerely ~ Kongdej
A tile have to be of a certain grain/material value (6 I think) before you can settle/see the tile yields of the specific tile A tile have to NOT be within 6 (I think) tiles of another city. Grass in general boosts grain of nearby tiles, Forests in general boosts material of nearby tiles, Rivers in general boosts grain of nearby tiles, Shards in general boosts the essence of nearby tiles, other resources usually boost in certain way, clay pits adds a little

I agree that its broken as is. I think tireless march shouldn't affect the whole army, even 1 cast makes it one of the most powerful enchants IMO But I have different ideas than others here :P Sincerely ~ Kongdej
I would suggest doing away with the "immune to being knocked prone" trait given by mounts: If a unit is knocked prone while mounted it should lose its mount for the remainder of this combat encounter. That would help the feeling that you can really change things on the battle field and create more diversity in tactical combat, without it being too much of a change.
Fun idea :D Sincerely ~ Kongdej
OK I have been continuing this game and sure enough I found a fell dragon and Verga had built 2 cities within 3 tiles of it's lair (one had expanded to within 2), plus an outpost within 2 tiles of it, plus a road running right past it too - dragon responds to this by .... doing nothing
Welcome to elemental :D I see this all the time ^_^ Sincerely ~ Kongdej
Hi all,Questions: 1. Does giving tribute make dominant factions see you more favourably? Or is it a slipper slope of give me more more more? 2. Yesterday Tarth decided to declare War! on me. Within one turn every other faction bar 1 had also declared war on me, even though I have warm, close or even friendly relations with them and they in turn were not particulary buddy buddy with Tarth. How could that be? Seems kind unreasonable.<
The reason its a win/loss ATM is there is very few defensive options, I miss some options to defend against an enemy onslaught of better units but only defend, so we could have more prolonged games and have "ties" on the combat field, where each faction would look at holes in the other factions defense, or look for just that one advantage. Chungasrevenge I would love trying to help you get better at the game, but want to know a few things first. 1 What is your favourite start<
