I am not a multiplayer player. However, I would love to sit and hotseat with a family member. But that is a different issue. More maps is more content, and that is what I really really want!
I not only love the updates. As a Steam user, I love how they happen automatically without my needing to do anything at all. "Oh, look, another gift from Stardock!" I have bragged about it to some of my game playing friends. Touting my software supplier as superior to their software provider is a childish and geeky thing to do, but very satisfying.
I am having a ton of fun with the tactical combat. I am starting to get a feel enough of the 4X part to be ready to raise a difficulty or two. Right now, I am really enjoying finding new weapons and creatures and such. The hints of lore everywhere is great flavor. I may break my gaming precedent and actually play a scenario/campaign. That is quite something for me.
That's it. I had a beer and decided I don't like it
You don't like your beer?
Nvidia GTX 460. Latest drivers. It does happen in 1.01, also.
> 60 Played D&D and then AD&D. Playing 3.5 with a group now. Found Civ series at CTP2. Found GalCiv2 and Stardock when CalCiv2 come out on Steam. As an old D&D purist, this is the first time I have tried anything like an RPG game. Loving it.
Some perceived improved framerate and smoothness in tactical battles. Defiite improvement on watcheing unit mve along road in zoomed out map. I have a medium machine. That was very choppy before. It is not perfect, but very noticeably much less choppy. Thanks.
I don't see a problem. The insta roads are magically built; it's not a set of bulldozers and paving equipment. In a game where people accept that we can raise and lower land itself, why is an instant road a further stretch of the magical imagination? I even like the strange road shapes that get formed. They are interesting base patterns that I can fine tune for efficiency with a road building unit, if I really need. As for the OP wh
I'd rather think of my archers as very strong and shooting right through the obstacles. But everybody has their own favorite method of visualization... In the meantime, one more reason to wait impatiently for an expansion!
I will confirm it was in 1.0. I have a middle range graphics card and thought it was just my system. It would clear up if I zoomed in. I haven't seen it yet in 1.01.
Wouldn't it be easier to use some sort of range based accuracy penalty rather than a range restriction? Something like 50% accuracy reduction should convince people to move. The AI logic becomes simple: If in range of target move backward to edge of range radius (maintain safe distance from melee) shoot If out of range of target move forward towards edge of range radius (attempting to
One thing about a save scummer though they will always make excuses to justify their cheating themselves. Xia is correct though as long as you're cheating yourself it doesn't matter except when you come to the forums and proclaim the game too easy because you cheat. (save/reload) and want the developers to make the game more challenging while you cheat. lol that ain't gonna happen evah I don't think.
&n
I like the notice when city is idle idea, and then you can reference the sleeping city indicator. I like the sleeping city indicator. It is intuitive and pretty obvious and visible. On a similar reasoning, I would like better notification of improvements that need updating, especially on shards. Clicking on each resource to see if it needs upgrading, or looking for that air shard hidden in the corner of empire does not add to game enjoyment for me. I w
I am just so special that in one of the dungeon tactical fields I can stand behind a marble column and shoot arrows and spells directly through the marble column at enemies that should be obstructed. It looks very epic and picturesque. It looks very wrong. The same is true of open field tactical maps with those rolling hills. Arrows go straight through the hills. Open field shots should be drawn as a ballistic arc not a straight line. Short range shots shou
Thank you, thank you to the grammar checkers! Grammar is such an immersion breaker for me. Thank you!
It's even easier with Steam. I open my game and it has already been updated!!! Nice that some companies want to make all this clean and easy for us.
Fireball and flame dart for attacks. Heal has been critical. I am liking Focus. City nchantments are good. Used tutelage on my soverign. Haste and grow are good. I like blind as a concept, but it is hard to tell just how much it is doing for me. Used land manipulation spells to cut a pass through some mountains to reach a quest on the other side of someone else's borders. That was fun.
