v1.01: Performance - well?!

v1.01: Performance - well?!

I'm a desperately lonely guy. I need constant attention.

My big contribution to v1.01 was setting myself up with a performance profiler and going to town on FE.

So, is anyone noticing a big performance boost with v1.01 over 1.0?

transition between turns is a lot smoother for me, that's where it seemed to drag the most for me before.  Everything else is fine.

Core i5 2500k, 8 GB RAM, Radeon HD 6850, Win7 64-bit

Noticing it is slightly worse in the early game, slightly better in the late game for me.

Being better in the late game is better as a tradeoff.

Some perceived improved framerate and smoothness in tactical battles.  Defiite improvement on watcheing unit mve along road in zoomed out map.  I have a medium machine.  That was very choppy before.  It is not perfect, but very noticeably much less choppy.

Thanks.

While the turn transition appears to be running more smooth, I have to say that the UI has become 1000x more buggy. Often now in 1.01, I'll play for 10-15 turns and than parts of the UI disappear on me and I have to save....exit....reenter...and load....to continue the game.

It's to the point where I'm planning to revert back to 1.0. Completely unplayable in it's current state.

Not sure anyone but you is getting that. Probably ought to post it in support.

Loading and starting a new game happens goes with 1.01 and generally the game is pretty stable on my machine both on 1.0 and 1.01. I havent got a crash at all.

With 1.01 the game runs smoother. Animations, transitions betweens turns. No difference in loading times between 1.0 and 1.01.

On my front, it is faster, but that's because I am now unable to start a game larger than small map (might be however my laptop melting issue when playing FE, hence, until clarified with hardware helpdesk, not posted in support)

Running fine on my machine, the odd crash when making new kings and changing options.

I get some CTDs during the game--and most of those occur if I try to move while the AI is moving.  Upon exiting the game, I get a message of the executable crashing.  No apparent problems after that.  The OS isn't frozen.  I'm running 32-bit WinXP.

Had no perf problems on 1.00 - was hoping 1.01 would fix the loading crash, but sadly, still present.

performance is about the same for me except that in my current game I have an issue where I can not continue due to the end turn not functioning even after a save.

I've noticed about a 3x performance boost...oh wait, you weren't asking about my ...errr nevermind!

Got a good Win7 machine, plays well on either version and I have not noticed a difference. :)

Continuing on 1.01 performance issues; in 1.0 I used to be able to ramp my memory to 2.4 gigs before my win XP 32-bit machine began to break down. However now in 1.01, my system begins to break down around 700K, and the game generally begins around 500K now…. whereas in 1.0 it began around 320K. Not sure what’s changed or what causes this failure, but I much prefer the performance of 1.0, even with the memory leak.
