I would argue that units and champions that are stationed in cities should be getting 1xp per turn. One of the main reasons why I STILL rarely build units is because stationing them in the city doesn't merit them ANYTHING. Thus, why pay the upkeep on them until you actually have a need for them. When that need comes, some quick buys and you're city is stongly defended. Also, ANY troop stationed in a city should provide that city a -2% reduction to unrest. It

I've had it where I walked past the spot 3 times with units.....right on top of the very tile....nothing. Then I build an outpost to collect some resources in the area and POOF....tile turns fertile. Stupid waste of a pioneer....now I have to queue ANOTHER pioneer....
Quoting GFireflyE, reply 13 Very interesting point. Hadn't considered that. I'm a little surprised that Kraxis has that ability right from the get-go. Should be part of the research tech tree.... The cost is 500 Influence, so you wouldn't normally be able to use it in the early game. "Reduced the level of the River Slag on map 2 and reduced the amount of Mire Skaths in that battle form 4 to 2" Don't make the campaign even easier....else you might as well call it a tutorial.
Quoting GFireflyE, reply 11 Here's something I posted in another thread back in 0.981 The biggest problem with those changes is, that Kraxis would be able to buy a city at the start of the game. Except for that, they certainly look interesting. Also, Influence was anything but useless in my last game. I only say three words: Four. Dragon. Camps.
Very interest
Here's something I posted in another thread back in 0.981 I still think there is relevance.
First, there should be a prestige modifier based on the amount of empire influence you have. Perhaps +1prestiege/100influence. This way, if you use your influence, your prestige drops.... and if you don't, your prestige increases. Now, currently everyone will hoard influence...but read on to point two in the next paragraph.
1) maps are too small, and the 'walls' that hem us in are too obvious. Make them bigger. 2) archery and spell range (other than the burning hands and similar spell range) appear to be unlimited. They should have a more limited range. 3) add more terrain effects such as: -woods (halve non-flying movement, doubles defense vs. ranged attacks and all flying attacks, hides units at start of the fight until they move)<
Are Juggernauts over powered? YES! Are Juggernauts MEANT to be over powered? YES! Deal with it. If it's too much, play Yithral...I hear they get Juggernauts.
I wish for it too....but I know it's not going to happen. Best thing to do is burn your own backup. Besides, having a hard copy of 1.0 isn't going to worth the CD because of all the polishing patches to come.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 77 Unfortunately, user game reviews aren't terribly informative. As someone pointed out, Diablo 3 has a user review rating on Metacritic of 3. There are a lot of people out there these days who just have an axe to grind. I would vote Diablo III exactly ZERO, like the chance that I'm going to pay for the "privilege" of "renting" single player ga
Gamespy's 70 point review doesn't properly depict what they've said in their review. In the review they gave 3.5/5 stars.....and while that is 70%, in the comments below the review, the reviewer SPECIFICALLY said that 3.5/5 DOES NOT equal 70......yet metacritic in it's infinite wisdom decided to plunk the score in as such anyways.

Further comment about the fog of war: Is it possible that the monsters are only activating in the areas revealed? Thus, when you deactivated Fog of War, all monsters started moving??? Obviously you can't check this because you have to disable fog of war to check it...which causes them to move...heisenberg principle...
Quoting GaelicVigil, reply 65 I think you're the first person I've ever met who hates being able to sail in a ship in a strategy game, and wouldn't buy a game for that reason alone. I didn't say that was the reason alone, but it was one of the contributing factors. I hate ship mechanics in strategy games, especially half baked ones. Heck, I hate swimming in Guild Wars
These ideas can just be intergrated as random events too. Better to use a system that's already in place.
Maybe not the place, I just hope future Stardock TBS games aren't doomed to mandatory Steamworks. hearing about the growing pains of SDC scares me some in that regard. Note: I don't hate Steam, I just don't want to be forced to run Steam to play a game because it's been problematic at times- when that happens I want to just be able to run the game executable and play it. <br

Don't use it then, but don't force others to play the way you do. & I don't care what you like and don't like. Don't force me to do what you like. And I shouldn't have to pay for ships in an expansion that I ALREADY paid for in the original game. I don't care if it's incomplete, put it in as it
Meh to both. Dynasties may be cool, but it would ONLY work if properly functional within the diplomacy framework. As is, diplomacy with other factions is far from decent and a great deal more work needs to be done in that aspect before dynasties can be revisited. As to ship units, I really don't like the concept of having ship units in FE. I would MUCH rather see 4-way wrap world in effect so that land formations are contiguous in any direction. HOWEVER, since ships
I really wish that if you had a champion that took Path of the Mage that staves would output more damage than if they were used by someone not trained in the ways of the mage. As is, staves are continually balanced up against bows, and that just doesn't seem right. Mages should not prefer to use bows over magical staves. Just some thoughts.
