Hey TBS Gamer - thanks for your help 1) I did edit the CoreUnits.xml file straight from the base game directory as you suggest 2) I tried to delete the tag as well as change it, but nothing going - in both cases, Vasim was still allied to the Empire when I started a new game... :( Any other clue or idea? Thanks, bendiwolf

As a follow-up question, I tried to change a certain champion's allegiance (if you must know, it was Vasim) from Empire to Kingdom using the Kingdom modifier in the CoreUnits.xml but it made no difference in a new game that I started (Vasim still was shown as having an Empire allegiance). Does anyone knows what I am doing wrong or what do I have to do? Or is it just a matter of race - all Krax heroes are automatically aligned with
Heavenfall is it techincally possible and/or allowed to use some of your wonderful items as loot in a straight FE game? I love stormworld, but sometimes I like to play original FE - I would love to be able to incorporate some of your items in the lootdrops...
Hi folks, Does anyone know if it's possible to use the Champion Kingdom tab to give certain champions dual allegiance (i.e. both to Kingdom and to Empire?) so they can be neutral/recruitable from both sides? Will this cause general weirdness or will it work? Best, Bendiwolf
Well the 30 population cost did not make much more sense lorewise since cities founded by settlers start at pop 1... But I would rather focus on gameplay than lore. The current game has too many balance issues because of trying too much to stick to lore
They could solve that by starting beginning cities at 30 pop ...
Does anyone else suspect that willie has spent the last few days posting drunk or high? :) Or is this his usual energy level?
I agree that the population cost was a HUGE improvement and would love the bug (or the design decision?) to be fixed back...
OK, here are a few more organized first thoughts: Champions recruiting: All good, and I like how there is a secondary impact of more emphasis on troops and special units (henchmen, scions etc.). questions: - will there still be a slider/option to select how frequently champions will appear? (I hope so) - will champions also be available through quests and/or random events? (i hope so). EDIT: i reread the OP and it seems they can
There are some really great changes here, and I'm excited to see the final result !!! Derek, since you are implementing some user requests, could you PLEASE PLEASE make it so that Path of the Governor heroes gain experience serving as actual Governors? It is such a small change, but would REALLY make the game more interesting and the choices of specialization significantly more ... well, significant :) Many thanks, Bendiwolf
I also voted for continuing development of FE, as I believe that (a) it has the potential to be one of the great fantasy strategy games and (b) as a platform it can be used by clever modders to give us years of fun. Here are the 6 things that I believe should be further developed in terms of Game MECHANICS: 1. Smarter diplomacy and more options for interaction (alliances, closed border treaties etc.) 2. Espionage mechanics with the requisite units (ambassador, sp
My main requests from a crafting system would be: - make it dependent on skill - allow in-game choice of graphics and icons - allow in-game naming of items Other than that, all of the above ideas seem perfectly acceptable for a crafting system, which I would LOVE to see in the game !!!
OK, here are my 5 things that would IMHO make the game significantly more interesting and strategically fun to play: 1) Make it so that "path of the governor" heroes and champions gain some XP while stationed in cities (MAJOR IMPROVEMENT TO GAMEPLAYING) 2) Really REALLY REALLY fix Auto-resolve 3) Item Vault building that can be constructed in cities and used to "store" items and artifacts 4) WALL structure that can be built on the strategic map and act li
Same with me...
Derek, I must say that I like the changes in the 1.1 release so far - I think they are more deep and substantial than usual, and will go a long way towards making this game the classic that it deserves to be. May I humbly suggest, however, that since this is a 1.1 release and all you also add a little content / eye candy as an extra ? I know you guys are busy with AI, balance and memory fixes, but just a few new weapons, armor, quests or monsters would feel like a great added
Hi everyone, Can somebody please help me with the exact changes needed to improve materials, grain and essence tile yields specifically for river / forest tiles? I am interested in changing some of these settings in one of my own mods, but I'm having a hard type deciphering TerrainTypes.xml and understanding which variables to change... Thank you in advance, INS

I also was quite certain, based on the changelogs, that this was fixed... Makes my suspicious side wonder how many other, harder to check issues, were declared as fixed without actually being so... If we cannot trust the change logs and have to double-check every fix reported, then this board - and our enjoyment of the game - will go south pretty damn fast!
I have asked for crafting from the beginning, and would definately LOVE to see it in a mod. I would even help, to the extent of my capabilities and availability...
Well, eat pork is like eat worm, it's so gross to eat pork to some people, readly, if game had worm, would your eating in the game to heal yourself?
I actually HAVE eaten worm (in Eye of the Beholder) and dragon stakes, and several other things in games which I would not (or could not) eat in real life... You see, games are something called "fantasy" which allows us to slay dragons, pillage villages and do al
OK, given the brilliance of comedians such as Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, Dennis Leary and Jon Stewart (to name but a few) I am REALLY interested in how you can possibly justify that higher intelligence = less swearing ...

Now THIS is a constructive, courteous and well-thought out criticism, which points out some of the same things other posters have been saying with full respect for the game and its developers - while I may not agree 100% with your assessment, I congratulate you on your way of stating it ...
Brad, I also think that a map-only DLC will be bought (grudgingly) only due to loyalty and will eat up some of the goodwill you've generated. I know that I at least may buy it to support Stardock, but will not think it's worth its value... Also agreeing with most of the posters here, I would GLADLY buy a DLC (and for more than 5$) if it contained any of the items below: - improved combat mechanics (tactical combat unit placement, flanking/swarming/backstabbing et
wont work anymore, spells now go off in quick resolve.
And what a wonderful thing that this was fixed and no longer an option :) :) :) On the dark wizard front, I always found that attacking with a few 5-unit high-initiative archers (with maxed initiative buffs) can also help, as can luring him into areas protected by a few of your high-level outposts stacking modifiers ...
response to long version 1. I preferred the ability to place the units and control how the city grew. Too many it was more strategic and added a lot to the game. However, I like the different paths the cities can go. If you have three cities and choose one of each path the cities are very different. I agree they all look the same, since they got rid of the ability to place the units. But the f
