Would it not make GREAT sense if we were given the choice/option to attack friendly champions instead of just recruiting them or leaving them in place? There are several times when I don't want to recruit the champion but also don't want to leave him/her to the enemy, so I am forced to recruit and then disband him/her - which is both tedious and counterintuitive lore-wise... What does everyone think? IMHO it would be an easy fix that would help the role-playing quite a

When I saw the OP I actually thought of MY version of a Hall of Heroes, where you can retire the heroes that have been heavily injured and generate benefits for your empire or kingdom (e.g. more mana, better trained units)... So let me try and COMBINE the ideas: how about a hall of heroes building which allows you to use existing, wounded heroes as trainers in order to train new ones! This way the balance is kept but the hero pool is replenished ! :)
I have the same problem :(
Let me add my own small pet peeves to include in the thread: 1. The Legacy of Serraine ability does not give ANY horse (warhorse or other) to the shop in order for champions to be able to buy it 2. Higher-level champions end up asking for negative amounts of money, which makes them impossible to recruit 3. The 10% selling price for items in the shop - please make it higher, or at least moddable
To start the ball rolling, here are some minor bugs / annoyances that could be fixed in the next patch (0.16) that are persistent from previous versions: 1. The Legacy of Serraine ability does not give ANY horse (warhorse or other) to the shop in order for champions to be able to buy it 2. Higher-level champions end up asking for negative amounts of money, which makes them impossible to recruit 3. The 10% selling price for items in the shop - please make
Each turn, the besieging army can lower that value by an amount proportional to their strength.
Not to nit pick, but while superior armies are critical to effectively concluding a siege, their increased size actually increases the time it takes to set them up - often a small army can work more effectively and quickly (of course if the defenders are few)... see what happened to Winterfell in GoT :) I would keep siege timings
I was thinking that since there already is a (moddable) 3 turn limit to the creation of new units, it would be a fair and easily implemented solution to introduce a moddable 1-2 turn limit to the sieging of enemy cities. This would: 1. Realistically portray the time it took to set up the siege camp, scale the walls etc 2. Allow the player and the AI some reaction time during which they could rush production, move armies and/or cast overland spells, and 3. Avoid the roa
I have three responses for the OP: 1. This can at best be classified as a minor annoyance and definately not the "One specific game detail lets the whole game down" 2. Most people find no problem with it as is (see reply by Kongdej) 3. At the very least, if the developers spend any time and resources on this, they should make it an option to turn healthbars on or off... Best, BDW
Also please add a high-level "teleport champion / army" spell - in the late game it becomes a chore to move champions around, especially in the very big maps (I know cloud walk exists, but this is only for the caster, which makes it very limited...)

PLEASE also make shop prices (or the discount against unit value) a moddable parameter! It is really annoying to get the ubersword of xxx and to be able to sell it for 10% of its real value !!!
In my humble opinion it is YOU who are not living up to what the game expected... [e digicons];P[/e] Seriously, I have played several times on Normal and Challenging, and have built empires of up to 12 cities - I have had monsters attack me and lost cities, but I have tried again, and prevailed... this game needs patience and thought, and not just brute force and spamming of cities... As for your idea to be able to build cities everywhere, I also began by asking for tha
Hey all, Does anyone know where in the data files do I find the value for the item sales price multiplier in the shops? It is currently at 10% of reported value, which I find a tad too low and unfair for my tastes... After all, if I complete a quest and gain the dagger of amazing awesomeness (TM) which is reported at 3,000 Gold value, it is a bit disappointing to try and sell it only to get 300 gold for it :) Many thanks in advance, <
I've been hearing a lot of people complain about starting positions, and I have the same problem - often having to redraw the map 8-10 times to get even a tenuously interesting position from which to start my empire... From the different commetns I am realizing that other people enjoy the "start in the wild and make your way" beginnings, but I am an empire-builder, and would like to have at least 3 reasonable city positions where I start... With this in mind, I would like
You realize you can mod a number of values in the game and give yourself more gildar? If you're interested I can give you some of these options...

Brad - 1. Love your ideas, especially the one about outpost upgrades and very expensive / unique high-level weapons and armor 2. Keep up the good work, and always bear in mind that for every rude or offensive fan there are hundreds of appreciative, rational, mature FE fans who really love the way this game is shaping up :) 3. Is there any chance that the game, even through expansions or mods, will give the player the ability to craft their own items in-g
I was so looking forward to playing, but I get a CTD every time at the end of the 'creating world' screen :( How do I help you resolve this? I'd hate to lose this weekend's playing time !!!
Beta 3 Maybe today
Azzazell Is this based on inside info or merely wishful thinking?
I LOVE the current beta, and I am fully supportive of all the planned changes, including the balanced AI, the more spells (oh yeah!) and the improved diplomacy. I will defer to all the great posts about unit balance and other such, and will only add ONE SMALL PLEA / REQUEST on my part which would make the game even more fun to play : PLEASE PLEASE with sugar on top make it so we can craft and NAME our own magical items and equipment!!! I know that it needs some new mechanics, an
I have to say I LOVE the idea of Veteran champions being used as magistrates in cities, lending their wisdom (faster construction, better resource use), or as ambassadors (more influence) or as arms masters (better troops) or as treasurers (more gold) :) I actually don't think that a great champion who can no longer be a tank is a useless game element - on the contrary, these kinds of elements lend character and generate a great feeling about the game. In fact
Also, perhaps in an expansion, PLEASE PLEASE let us craft or imbue, choose an icon for and NAME our equipment/weapons/armor !!! I loved the way MoM allowed you to construct magical weapons and give them meaninful names, and I would LOVE a the ability to do this in FE (perhaps through a spell, an ability or a forge building)...
Perhaps the best solution to the heroes / champions thing would be the following: 1. Re-introduce dynasties as an alternative means to generate new champions in long games 2. Allow for a "kill heroes" option for those who want it (so that we can recreate Game of Thrones :)) Also, perhaps on an expansion, PLEASE PLEASE let us craft or imbue, choose an icon for and NAME our equipment/weapons/armor !!! I loved the way MoM allowed you to cons
Since you great folk in Stardock are taking ideas and are obviously aiming to reach MoM greatness (and more), here is another suggestion/plea: PLEASE PLEASE introduce equipment, weapons and armor crafting / enchanting with the ability to NAME the items created!!! I know it was a small part of the MoM experience, but it made the game soooo much more interesting and exciting! I know it may be too late in the development, but even in an expansion I would LOVE the ability (
