Reply to Hot Seat in FE Multiplayer
Quoting charon2112, reply 5I'd love to see play by email implemented. omg, haha does anyone actualyl still play strategy games like that? the thought seems abhorrently slow. imo it would be a complete waste of effort these days on topic: hotseat would definitely be ideal. Although i suspect it may be harder than you'd think, it probably requires a codebase that
quoting post When I see the link that I may qualify for FE, I'm excited and logging into to my gamestop account that I haven't used in some time to get FE. I say GS, because that was what my account was migrated to after logging into Stardock Central. So, Elemental: War of Magic was installed, but wasn't upgraded to FE. Why not? I had purchased Elemental a while back, and it buggy enough that I gave up playing it. Lately,

You guys are seriously confusing the'fun-ness' of the game with the actual facts. The game was fun, it was different, it was new - but it was pretty badly put together. It took a decade of patches and unofficial patches to make the game even somewhat balanced and playable and even then it is buggy as hell and as unbalanced as an alcoholic soccer mom on Prozac. If you go back and play the game without the decade of patches that came afterwords you would realize that. I a

It's a fantasy game afterall so bring in the fantasy races. Especially hobbitssssss
I'd rather play an original game than a Tokenesque pastiche.
Emperor_Nero, Visually Civ 5 looked way better than 4. Not perse that it has better graphics but the stacking of units in civ 4 was the biggest issue i had with that game. Seeing a huge blob of units on the scteen is more satesfying that a stack of doom. Still civ 4 is probably the best game ever made. Seeing a huge army with thousands of soldiers marching towards eachother in real time is absolutely awsome. If the micro
Ive thought a lot about this game before i even know it came out. If i would make a game myself it would be a blend between civilization 4/5 and total war in a fantasy setting. This game comes very close except the thousands of thousands of units TW has to offer. But if i can costumise and really get attached to my units when they die etc. this is very cool.
I personally thing

But it got a lot of other things right that FE can learn from so it's certainly reasonable to compare. Some truths to consider: 1. The game despite the issues had fans who bothered to set up tribute pages that can be seen to this day and who bothered to make fan m

I personally like how Game of Thrones has done it. The series is about political intrique and war on a human level. It's low fantasy and I appreciate it. I mean there is still some magic and dragons and such but you don't see a hoard of Urk-hai running in to battle. I love Tolkien, but I love it because it was original to Tolkien. Now every game that says it's fantasy has to have orcs, goblins, elves, and the like or people just aren't happy - high fantasy tropes are just play

19, US, first SD game was Sins of a Solar Empire (bought it when it was still expensive.). Been playing strategy games since I was probably 12, and I've put probably a couple thousand hours in on various TBS games over the years (starting with Alpha Centauri and Civ 3). Too young for AD&D, but I have played some 3.5, but sadly there are few people in my area that play D&D so I don't get to play much. If you don't want it, don't buy it. If you want some premade maps and new stamps to enhance your random maps buy it. If you feel like supporting Stardock some more, buy it. It's not like they're charging people for key content. They're f'ing maps and stamps

Third you will want a production enhancing building (work

I don't want to see fantasy races in FE. I am not sure why people do. It's not in the lore and when you dump in fantasy races you're just dumbing it down to every other game. I'd rather have like an ogre faction or a bandit faction or something that is in the lore.
Nostalgia's a bitch.
True that. Everyone compares the game to MoM but they forget how much it wasn't a good game. It was buggy, unbalanced, and fairly bland because the lore was mediocre at best. It was fun though, back then it was original and that is why it is remembered. It isn't remembered as being a good game, though some people like to say it is - it was remembered for being original and fun.&

We all enjoy playing the game for various reasons. We shouldn't be fighting over something silly like the reasons we enjoy the game. We should be working towards making it better for all of us.
