Fixed memory leaks?! THANK YOU. Now I just need a fix for alt+tab crashes, and a fix that corrects the mouse cursor glitches, then I can officially play Elemental without any serious gameplay-hindrances!! [e digicons][/e]
Its a bunch of bullshit. Everyone should be able to use everything.
Was this an attempt to invalidate/downplay any negative statements about the game with sarcasm? Sorry if others' opinions and perfectly-valid issues with this game somehow offend you, but it doesn't work that way.
Agreed with Pyruvate completely. Heck, half of the time longer hair styles are completely unusable, because the head meshes aren't properly fitted for half of the hair in the game. I love so many things about Elemental, that it makes it that much more frustrating than I can't do extremely fundamental things like give my sovereign the hair I want because I'm going to see a massive glob of tumor-esque flesh sticking out the back of their head.
Yikes... I use Impulse Win7-x64, and thankfully my file was only between 12 and 13 Mb (without doing anything special); very painless. Either way, if Impulse is truly at fault here by creating so many problems for people, it sounds like Stardock seriously needs to consider looking elsewhere for their updating methods.
I agree 100% with everything said, except for the part on windows updates. I've had my hard drive get permanently corrupted beyond repair after installing one in February-March 2010. After while (too late for some), it was known to be a "glitched" update that completely broke literally thousands of computers, many of which belonged to engineers and others who knew what they were doing. Wasn't the first time this happened, and won't be the last. Some claim it's best to
Yep. I've been seeing lost libraries regularly in every patch...
^^ Agreed with both of the above posts 100%. We wouldn't even have evil factions in 2K's Elemental without paying $20 for each one first. [e digicons]:dur:[/e] The biggest problem with gaming in general these days is it's ALL about publisher's playing 'evil dictator' over your potentially innovative, quality work. I hear it from friends working in the industry constantly . Working developing games these days can truly be hell
If you've had little experience in playing other games of this genre, I can imagine Elemental to be a bit tricky to pick-up. This game doesn't exactly hold your hand, but I've played far more confusing, difficult games than this. That said, having experience with any remotely similar strategy games prior to Elemental should give you a some idea on how to go about playing it. Having played many strategy games over the years, I found Elemental to b
Never thought about this, but you're right, Serin. Illyan seems to be the only one I ever see. Yet another thing to add to the list of many "should-be-moddable" features of the game.
What do you have against rats, Wintersong? [e digicons]:pout:[/e] I'm replacing both of those rat-stabbing crests with this one: ------> "Can yoo stop stabbin' my fwends, pweeeeeeese?" But seriously, these are very well-made and extremely useful... not to mention much-needed! Thank you Wintersong! [e digicon
When you're enemies with another faction and wish to "defeat" them, you have one option: Murder them. Obliterate them. Remove them from this mortal coil etc, etc. War is never that simple, be it real or fantasy. So why not have the option to take them hostage? I've been a HUGE fan of the Sega Saturn/PS2 game Dragonforce since th
Is there a way to forbid/restrict specific rival sovereigns (custom-made) from automatically equipping new armor while playing? I don't care if it's restricting the sovereigns from equipping individual body parts, or if there is a way to code specific computer-controlled sovereigns from equipping new armor at any point in the game all together. I ask this because some custom sovereigns I've made were designed to look a very specific way during sovereign-creation, and when they'r
Well the game is called "Elemental", correct? Well technically speaking (and this is a "technical" game right?), shouldn't we have elemental shards for EVERY element on the periodic table? I cannot believe this was overlooked for so long, and we're already at 1.1. COME ON, BRAD !! [e digicons][/e] I realize it's a lot of elements (117 currently IIRC) so it might be a lot of work, but we really should ge
Noted. Thanks for the input.
That's a shame. So does RavenX specifically not want anyone working on a zombie faction? Otherwise, I'd be willing to give it a shot.
^ You can make them shirtless, don't worry. ( edited : ) There are two races that I'd love nothing more than seeing in this incredible mod. Since we have some decent zombie units now, I was curious if you've considered incorporating them somehow, perhaps even making a zombie "race". I'd imagine a story about a sovereign/necromancer who calls upon the dead to create the world as they see fit etc. Cities could feature a very run-down appearance to them, as
^ No, they indeed run perfectly fine together for me. I'd like to know if Impinc has ever considered (or at least open to the idea of) incorporating Heavenfall's new races into ACP. So then we'd not only have new recruitable NPC's roaming the world from base-game empire races, but ALSO new Expanded Faction races.
The new skeletons look FANTASTIC. Aesthetic improvements like this go a long way to improve the quality of this already wonderful mod. Thank you for including it. Also, I was curious if you have any plans on incorporating a (or making an alternate to satisfy purists) version of this mod that incorporates the additional races from Heavenfall's Expanded Factions (and if this has been discussed already, I apologize). As I continue to play and enjoy the incredible depth
So it is pretty simple! I'll be trying this out shortly, but it sounds very straight-forward. Assuming I don't somehow mess something up, many thanks for the tip!
^ I've found the identical glitch in my game as well, exclusively concerning Deep Gash. It's consistently 0 for me as well. Thought perhaps I was doing something wrong, but it doesn't appear that way. I too, LOVE what this mod adds to the experience; from what I've seen, the additions you've made are very nicely balanced. The more diversity/uniqueness of this game, the BETTER (especially involving weapons!). Thank you Kenata.
Is there a way to designate computer-controlled sovereigns (custom or not) to automatically belong to custom factions I've created, every time I start a new game? In other words, I want my custom sovereigns to belong to custom factions I've made (while selecting rival factions at the start of a new game), instead of simply joining random factions with no control over which one they end up in whenever I start a new game. I expect it's a pretty simple thing to do, but I cannot figur
Judging from your problem, I would assume ACP isn't causing this, but likely another equipment mod, or a glitch in Elemental itself (hey, it's possible , right? [e digicons]:-"[/e] ). I use the most recent version of ACP, among others, and haven't noticed exactly what you're talking about (all defense values for items are showing up just fine for me), however I have noticed something similar: I've encountered a glitch (just recently) where
The only thing that remotely 'erks' me anymore is the visual appearance of the skeletons' models (skeletons wearing black shirts with a rib cage on the front of them sucks me out of the immersiveness a bit). But enough griping; Everything seems balanced PERFECTLY from what I've experienced. Some creatures wondering around are quite a bit more powerful now (especially earlier in the game IMO), and that's what I love about it. I can't stand when I can simply s
^ Same here. I've been using 1.1c and still have OOM crashes once roughly every 2-3 hours of play (haven't tried 1.1d yet if this has since been addressed). This is by far the worst of the problems I've encountered, because fortunately this is now the only crash I'm getting. Fortunately, I can finally alt+tab without a crash 100% of the time now (so far). Other issues: - On rare occasion, I'm still getting text glitches involving
Interestingly, I have never had the pleasure of experiencing this glitch/crash until updating to 1.1. Now with 1.1, I get the "DX Error: Invalid call" crash upon every single time I alt+tab. Too bad this still isn't fixed... wish I didn't love edge-scrolling so much. :(
