I finally brought myself to start a new game with the new version of Elemental (I was in one of those interest lulls) when I was instantly struck with something that is ruining my enjoyment in the game that didn't seem to be an issue before. My units constantly don't move where I tell them too.... I was just starting out when BOTH other factions I have met decided to declare war on me only turns after our introductions. Troops started pouring into my lands

Yeah... I had ZERO crashes before.... I started with .09 but never saw all the performace issues that plagued it before.... Now I haven't been able to play for more than say 20 minutes with a CTD.... I'll gather info as i go and post it...
[quote who="Phylast57" reply="8" id="2821829"] He sent in that army without me knowing Oh that's total BS; however,I am curious how he was able to approach your original city. Who was the original aggressor? Was it an amphibious assault? Did he use the oft disparaged teleport spell? I don't know about anybody else but my original city is generally surrounded by other cities or inaccessible due to geography. I go to great pains to insulate it. Is the AI getting craft
So this is frustrating... I was at war with a neighboring sovereign and I was completely winning. However, his final army went straight after my original town, which was not completely protected, as it was on the back end of my lands and the war had thus far taken place at the complete other side of the map. He sent in that army without me knowing. The Sovereign himself was leading it. Well.. long story sho
I searched the forum but saw no post about this... Hope this isn't redundant. Why would you pick a faction from the game vs making one yourself? I was looking at the bonuses that the prebuilt factions come with and they hardly use the 10 points you can allocate to the various faction attributes. Creating your own faction in the workshop will give you an immediate edge over all of the other factions. I think we either need le
I think the other books are the expansion packs coming later...
Well... with all of your advice, my 2nd game banked me my first victory! ;) I ended up going the adventure route and on turn 666 (seriously... 666) I completed the forge and my golem army stood ready for, well... whatever it is I am going to do with them. The way it ended had a slight sinister undertone I was not expecting that was pretty cool. I ended up with a 54 as my score. Again, I have no idea what sort
Even with just a few peasants sitting in my cities, my second game seems to be going much better... I am not ignoring the war tech tree now and just got my first mounted soldiers! I have yet to have children though... Guess this is the next game system I need to mess around with seeing how much of the advice above deals with offspring. Thanks all for your advice! I am the type that failure makes me want to try harde
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ After smoting the campaign I was feeling pretty good about starting my first game. I created a custom channeler and set up my first town called Korgath. It was doing pretty well and I was enjoying actually playing around with the tech tree (unlike in the campaign)... I had a decent start so I founded a neighboring city called Raven's Hook and
That FAQ is awesome and Ive learned a lot in the few minutes I have skimmed it between teaching my classes today. Thanks a lot for posting it. One more random question... Is there a place people post their custom units? I would love to trade ideas on these and may start a thread if there is not already one....
Thanks for the advice guys... I ended up playing the campaign, which was pretty cool but seemed a bit short and not quite as informative as I expected... I hear this is being remedied though... Starting a new game today now that I have a slightly better handle on the mechanics... The town building in the campaign seemed quite limited, as my cities were fairly capped out early in the game but I assume this will be fixed when I get to play around with te
Hey guys... I was a forum lurker for a while and decided to purchase the game with the lure of free expansions... I have not played many 4x games before... only civ 1 and tried civ5 recently (which I adore)... Well... I started a new game a messed around for a little while and really see some promise in the game but did not like the character I create (kind of rushed one together not knowing what I was doing...) ...so now I
